Thank you, DJ Doena, for your thoughts on my question.  I ALWAYS back up my collection after I add a new group of DVDs to my profiler and also keep a backup on an external hard drive as well..  No idea how I would exclude my cover images and I wouldn't want to not have them if for some reason I did need to use my backup to reinstall, etc. My collection isn't that large so it backs up rather quickly, perhaps minute and a half.

Is version 4.0 totally fixed by now, reliable and stable?  I'm still using Version 3.9.1 Build 1657 (running Win 7 Ultimate).  I cannot imagine having the upgrade mess things up on my DVD Profiler application as would hate having to type the info for 3000 movies into the program all over again.  Never had a problem upgrading in the past but I recall when v4.0 came out people had lots of problems with it.
Thank you if anyone knows.

Just checked under My Contributions again and I see it does show 'released' there now.  So I will assume that means they did accept my last two contributions.  To check further, I also see they have been added to the online database when one now does a search for them.  So, all is good.  Again, thanks to all for lending your thought here.

My contribution was for 2 movies that were NOT listed in the online database (I live in New York so would be the United States online database) and were the full and correct contributions direct from my own retail movies and included front & back case cover pictures.  I did not include any 'birth years' as the case did not supply that info.  I do not profess to be a typist so perhaps there was a typo.  Thank you ALL for your responses.

This is supposed to be a members contribution site so as to help other members but I always seem to have a lot of problems getting my contributions accepted. I have always added info direct from my own retail dvd/bluray discs and cases, included front and back screenshots, do my best to make sure there are no typos BUT it has been 9 days anbd no one has even looked at my last two contributions.  Both are still marked neither no or yes.  Have you stopped taking member contributions for movies that are not in the online database?

Thanks ever so much for your time,
Sherry

Thank you for responding.  Yes, I know everything online depends upon the speed of your internet but I'm just looking for an average amount of time.  I have a good speed cable connection but maybe not as fast as say someone in a city who is close to the hub.  I'm in the country and 9 miles from the hub.  I download a full 1 GB movie in 4-7 minutes (depends on the host) and it takes me 10-25 minutes to upload it (again, depends on host site I'm uploading to).

About how long does it take to upload a dvd/bluray collection of 2500 movies to have it online so friends can view your collection?  Thanx for any responses.

I recall people were having a lot of problems with Version 4 of DVD Profiler when it was first introduced. Some problems were fairly severe and people here advised me to wait until things were fixed before downloading the update.
As an example, back on February 14th

"Is this a normal  look for Profiler 4"
Mentions about tabs not appearing correctly and the 3rd response (Feb 20th) states that bug was reported but they guessed it didn't get fixed.
I am wondering if anyone knows for sure if it is now fully fixed and okay to update to Version 4.  I am using V.3.9.1 Build 1657 and am running Windows7 64bit Ultimate and it's working fine.  Thank you to anyone who knows.
