Actually you are.  You are imposing your opinion that Zsa is her middle name and not a part of her 1st name.

EDIT: Page 2 and moving.  Gonna stay out of it from here (I think  ) . My guess is we will hear about Grandpa Magly around page 5  (Kidding Skip - don't get too riled up)

I have seen numerous interviews, Hal, with numerous people where both names were used and never used just a first name. Was Sue Ellen ever called Sue on Dallas...NO.

I am not the person arguing I am demanding documentation that supports the conclusion. Not reaching a conclusion and then trying to fit data to it. I agree I would like to see logic prevail...so...display some.

And you are trying to impose YOUR opinion, Rick WITHOUT proof.

Unlike numerous users here , I demand documentation. I don't let users simply throw up a birth year or a common name without backing it up. I have seen many of my friends who I would hope know better vote yes to numerous such Contributions, so for you guys a dartboard or a users opinion is fine. For me it is not, we have a default position and we can move from there, with supporting documentation.

It will most likely prove nothing to Skip, but perhaps everyone else might agree, but I found this:

Quote:
She was born in Budapest, Hungary, the second of three daughters (Magda, Sári, and Eva) born to Vilmos Gábor, a soldier, and Jolie Gabor (née Janka Tilleman). The name Zsa Zsa is a nickname for Sári in her native Hungarian. She was named after the then top Hungarian actress Sári Fedák, who was also called Zsa Zsa because her daughter couldn't pronounce the name Sári.

Which seems to indicate that Zsa Zsa is indeed one name, a specific Hungarian nickname. And that, considering that she was known as Zsa Zsa long before she married Conrad Hilton (with whom she had her only child), that it was the actress she was named for who changed her name to Zsa Zsa to help her daughter pronounce it.

So I'm firmly in the Zsa Zsa is one name, and her name correctly ought to be parsed Zsa Zsa//Gabor.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

Fortunately, the Rules do not require that the community convince any single individual of any particular change, but allow the voting system to decide these things.

In fact, name parsing is not addressed anywhere in the Rules, therefore, no documentation is required under the Rules to change the parsing of a person's name since you aren't actually changing the person's name.

How do you know that Sue Ellen is being called by her first and middle name?  How do you know Sue Ellen is not her first name? Or are you just assuming?

You are reaching a conclusion, Squirrel, and I would agree, but I see no evidence to support the conclusion in what you offered as documentation. As I said without evidence to the contrary she should be Zsa/Zsa/Gabor. She has been in Hollywood for well over 50 years and who knows what name she uses or how to parse it. I have not seen or have access to anything which might be helpful, like say a Driver's license application, which would list how SHE would do it. I am simply saying that without documentation to the contrary use the default of first/ middle/ last.

I doubt we will see a drivers licence. She is famous for that cop slapping incident for driving with an expired licence. She has since had an accident rendering her wheelchair bound and a stroke so don't hold your breath that she will be making an application anytime soon.

Ok Hal, just for you, since there is no documnetation reuired as you correctly pointed out. I am going to begin parsing all names into ONE field. It's as right as any of your logic....NOT. Since documnetation is not required you can't even vote No.

Great! That will bring us one step closer to name linking, as we won't have to worry about differently parsed names anymore

Hmmm, you might have something there. Theoretically the records from the cop slap should be public record.

This helps how, squirrel. Are you implying that because of the artcle it should Zsa Zsa/Gabor. Why? It is not uncommon for people to be called by both first and middle name. For example Linda Sue or for Dallas fans Sue Ellen.

Technically, you are right.  Just an FYI though, I saw an interview a loooong time ago (at least 30 years ago) wherein she was asked how she got the name Zsa Zsa.  She said it was a family nickname but I don't remember any of the details beyond that.

Btw, two part female first names are VERY common in the South.

"Gabor, Zsa Zsa" at the bottom of the clapboard in her mugshot.
