I have a delicate issue here.
On june 2nd I've added a new contribution regarding Marc Eckõ's Getting Up - Contents Under Pressure: Limited Edition
This DVD has been released seperately and with a game of the same name. (I bought it seperately)

When I added the disc to the Profiler database I've entered the video standard as PAL, which is exactly what it is (double checked it with both computer and stand-alone DVD player).

Well, on June 18th I've added some additional info regarding overview, etc. and when I wanted to contribute these changes I got the following message "This profile cannot be contributed due to the following errors: * DVDs from this locality should use NTSC video standard."

Kinda odd since I've added it in the first place already and since I know for sure it is a PAL release.
Now I had to change the video standard to NTSC first before I could contribute it.

Is there some way to avoid this issue?

The contribution number is: 3546430122082

I believe that the locality must match where the Disc is produced.  US discs cannot be PAL. You may very well have a PAL disc but the locality is not US. Where was the disc manufactured and subsequently purchased. You may have pirated material. As best I can determine the locality is in Europe.

What region did you use when you first contributed the profile?  Region 1 DVDs are NTSC.

You've submitted it under the US locality. To fix the error you need to change that to the correct European one then resubmit.

The system doesn't automatically detect this sort of incorrect data on the initial submission, only when somebody tries to update the profile.

The UPC doesn't return an entry in the upcdatabase, but does at least resolve to being an Atari (European) UPC.

@Byates1: This disc certainly is a legit copy (e.g. silver) and bought from Makro in the Netherlands(large retailer store from the Metro Group AG)
Original artwork and the UPC code (3-546430-122082) can be traced back to the original makers.
I'm not sure where it was manufactured, since this information isn't available on both disc and artwork.

@8ballMax: I've contributed the disc with 'Region Free' which I've checked to make sure.

That's irrelevant as you've set a United States locality, which is what's causing the problem.

Go to DVD > Change locality to alter it, but you'll need to do some searching around on the web to find the locality.

Well ok, I was under the assumption that the UPC code was tagged to the locality.
My mistake.

When I've entered my first DVD's ("Getting Up" is one of them) I forgot to change my default options in the Options tab, which was US originally.
Now I've changed it with the right info for more than a week or so.

I can change the CoO but don't see any way to change the locality for this (or any other) disc.
When I change the CoO to for example UK I also get the same error message.

Perhaps I've overlooked something?
Could you help me out any further?

Locality is not the same as Country of Origin. You can change the locality under the menu item DVD. However, the region must first match the locality. If the region is 1, then you can only choose US and Canada. Change the region first.

Ahh, now I know how to change it!
Thanks jykke!

Kinda odd though that you can't change this kind of information within the DVD profile itself.
That's why I couldn't find it at all.

To be more precise the disc was first entered as a region free (e.g. No region coding), but that wasn't the issue here in the first place.

You can't change UPC/EAN from within the DVD Profile either.  Error checking for this information must be at the highest level, for some reason, rather than within the DVD.

Therefore it should be contributed to the locality Netherlands. This has nothing to do with neither region nor UPC but simply with locality

Is that really a given fact?

There are several shops in the UK that import music titles from abroad and I've bought stuff from 'UK' online shops that's actually from a different locality (for Profiler purposes).

The fact all of the small amount of text on the cover is in English (as far as I can see from the scan) would suggest this is not the case. That's why I suggested Hotmailer try researching it on the web.

With locality Netherlands, you would expect Dutch subtitles (if there is no Dutch sound option). If that is not present, it is more likely to be a UK disc.

Exactly! Normally DVD's like these (game related) won't be made in the Netherlands, but for Europe most of them are made in the UK or Germany.
But in this case the chance it was made elsewhere (e.g. Asian countries) could also be highly plausible.

Taking into account the Profiler purpose it's kinda hard to say which locality we must choose, the one where it was bought from, where it was released originally or where the DVD itself was made (pressed).

Sounds like a poll to me.

That's not always the case, take for example the Dutch release of "A Goofy Movie", English and Dutch language, but no Dutch subs, only many different others altough the artwork was pressed in the Dutch language.
But I get your point.
