Was also called Cliffhangers as every chapter ended in a "cliffhanger" to keep you coming back. I have a collection of about a dozen movie serials in my collection. This is a single film (in episodes) spread over 3 discs so Cast/Crew should be in this profile. is this right? is this a film that has been split into episodes i thought it was a series made especially for the cinema which was shown before the main feature. |

It was definitely a film serial.
I personally don't know the best way to profile something like this, so the no vote may be right - it's just the reason that's wrong!

| | Posted: | | | | I removed cast and crew as they are in the child profiles as per the box set rules but have to admit this could be one of those profiles that crosses the rules as it is a series but not a television series. |

I really don't know what the answer is... I haven't worked on any of the movie serial profiles myself yet.
I know personally I would only want the cast and crew in the child profiles... but that is just my opinion. | | | | Pete |

| | Posted: | | | | Yes that was my reasoning why have redundant info in the parent when it is all in the child profiles but of coarse there maybe people who are not using the child's so would want the info in the parent. Think i will resubmit it with cast and crew left in. |

However IMO, the answer is the same: 1) If it's a series of chapters/episodes it should be treated like a TV series and the cast/crew data in the master/main profile with optional child profiles containing the data also. 2) If it is a long movie split over more than one disc (like LotR extended) then we have cast/crew data in the master/main profile and no child profiles except locally. Whichever way you look at it the data should be in the master profile (though since the three potential child profiles were sold separately before a boxed release they will exist for anyone who wants them whether you think of it as a movie or a series). | | Posted: | | | | Just had a weird one i contributed the child profiles for this set disc one profile declined disc two profile accepted disc three profile declined all changes i made were identical so why was one OK but the other two not? |
