Awesome. I'm drooling. Best wishes on your engagment and wedding. Seems like you got your priorities in order, and man you are fortunate to have a partner that wll also appreciate the A/V system.

Stuff like this is mostly a matter of taste when you get to these performance levels, so the only recommendation I would make is in on the Power accessory. IMHO it does not seem to have the capacity to run your system for more than a few minutes. Also check to make sure that it produces Sine Wave output - best for sensitive electronics and if you ever intend to run on an emergency generator. It probably comes with software so that your HTPC or server can monitor and configure it, and perform an orderly shutdown to prevent data loss.

You can get a lot more for your money by getting a refurbished UPS - several good web sites out there.

Oh well, I've already rambled too much ...

Edit: I lied. One more thing. I'm surprised not to see a projector in the mix. I'm curious what your thoughts are ...

@mediadogg

Thanks for the kind words... I'm not looking for the battery backup to run the entire system, i just need it to keep the dvr/gaming system running during brown outs or breaker resets... just so i dont miss / loose anything.

I will look into the Sine Wave, HTPC monitoring... didn't consider running it off an emergency generator, but i am the type that would get one for that purpose...

As far as the projector is concerned, I havent yet seen one that i LOVE. I can't justify the money and effort put into front projection unless i am in love with it... I am really looking forward to 3D at home and that seems to be aways off still in front projection... also I enjoy low maintencance... i dont want to be changing bulbs... and it would be added cost on top of the TV, because i wouldn't watch everything on the projection.

Of course since I don't have the house yet... I also can't make determinations about throw distance and light levels... but honestly I think the 63" 3D plasma will due for basically everything i want.

im not currently looking to do anything unfortunately... i just got engaged and i am currently saving up to buy a house and plan a wedding... once those things are complete the theater room will be the first order of business (the wife loves these toys as well so)

If I were building my dream system right this second however it would look a bit like this:'

TV
Gaming / Blu-Ray (3D Capable)
Receiver
DVR
Front Speakers
Center Speaker
Rear Speakers
Sub
Power Management

Small Price to pay for perfection in my mind... of course add all the needed accys and wiring etc etc

Wow, you actually found a woman who loves that stuff too? My first wife almost left me when I bought a TV without checking with her first..(She did leave my later on when I opened my own AV Company without asking her.. which is understandable.. But I was a lot younger then)
