Hmmm. I can't get mine to connect, either. I guess I'll have hubby look at it tonight and come back if he gets stumped as well.

For those that have trouble connecting to the PC version, here's a step-by-step guide on how to set everything up. Mind you, it's not exhaustive or well-written but might help:

Hi all!
I followed the guide step by step and all is good!

I've got the latest version of the iOS, DVDP on my iPhone and DVDP on my PC.
I have openned the port 32847 on my wifi router (both tcp and udp).
My iPhone and my PC have static address.

And I'm still 'unable to connect!!!

Have you got others solutions? I have the impression to have lost €6,99...

Have you tried using another port ? Could there be a software firewall (Windows firewall or anti-virus software with an included firewall) blocking access ?

Thank you for your help!

I've got Win7 pro on my computer and DVDP is in the authorised programs list.

My anti-virus software in avast an I didn't found anything like a firewall, maybe there is one?

And finally, I tried with another port and it is the same!

Anything else?

Thanks!

Just to make absolutely sure nothing in your router or firewall settings affects your ability to connect, try a port that is usually open like port 80.

If that doesn't work I would suggest opening a support ticket with Invelos.

I also had problems connecting the iPhone (iOS 5) today, even though the connection worked some weeks ago.
In my case I solved the problem by uninstalling the CheckPoint EndPoint client from my computer. It seems that checkpoint blocked the connection.

Best regards

I'm sorry for the delay but it still doesn't work...

I've tried on the port 80, and it's the same.

The worst is that I have others app in my Iphone that I connect to my computer or my PS3, and it works very well, without configuration of host name, IP address or port number!!!

You can take an exemple on this :

Remotehaxey > connect to my PS3 to remote it on specials bluray discs
iCompta > connect to my computer to synchonize my bank accounts
djay Remote > connect to my computer to remote my audio mixing application

The app on the iPhone find that the application is running on one of the computer of my private network and connect to it very easily!

I don't understand why it's so hard with DVD Profiler??? And why it doesn't work?

Yesss, I've tried another thing and it works!!!

When the DVD profiler is in the authorised program in the Win7 firewall, it's not enough!!!

I must desabled the Win7 firewall to use the connection between the Iphone app and the PC application!
But this is not acceptable for me!

I think that there is something that doesn't work on the Win7 firewall, or in my configuration of it. But this is strange...

I hope that this not because I have a Win7 professionnal?

Try this:

- close DVDP
- enable Windows firewall again
- remove DVDP from the authorized program list
- start DVDP again
- when prompted, allow DVDP again in the firewall settings

I never had to do this with DVDP, but back when I used Windows for other programs that usually solved connection problems.

Finally got my phone to connect to the computer.

When I hit update. I get a screen that looks WAY to much like the blue screen of death.
And my computer crashes.

It reboots. And comes up fine.
But when I try again the same thing happens.

Anyone else have this happen?

I never had this happen.
Do you get something that looks like the BSOD or do you get the actual BSOD ?
Did you change anything on your PC recently ?

Looks like there is a problem with a driver on your PC.
Look here for possible solutions.
If that doesn't help it would probably be a good idea to ask in the DVDP Desktop forum since the issue is with Windows and not iOS.

In Command Prompt you write: ipconfig /all Then "Enter".

DVD Profiler on PC : Click on "Tools", "Options", "Sharing" Tick "Share my collection on the Network", Share on port 32847, View access and your pw. If you will allow changes from iPhone use a pw. Tick "My network". Click OK.
iPhone : Click on DVD Profiler app. Databases. Update Local Collection. Edit. Host : 192.168.0.10 or what you found at ipconfig. Port 32847 and fill in correct pw. Continue.
To exit "command" write exit Then "Enter".

My pc is connected to the router (cable). iphone to the same router.
The IP that showed in DVD profiler was 10xxxxx. I run cmd, located 192xxxx - entered it on the iPhone, everything was ok.
