Well, there could be a period of auto approval like they did when they added color, so perhaps if someone is just adding 4K it will be automatically approved?

That would be awesome.

Adding the color field all on it's own is still an automatic approval system as far as I know, so if small changes like that are automatically approved it would probably make things a lot easier behind the scenes.

I don't know everything the new version entails as I haven't downloaded it yet (too many contributions to make to wait such a long period of time for the release) but it'd be cool if there were a few things like that that could be automatically approved.
The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.

The big changes, from looking at it, is the 4K format, Dynamic Range (Dolby Vision, HDR10) and new audio codecs (DTS:X, Dolby Atmos). Probably more I'm missing but those are the most noticeable ones.

I would hope common sense would prevail with 'box checking' contributions, adding 4K for example, treated like adding a colour format now, auto approving them for expediency. Once that initial wave is out of the way, there can be a bit more scrutiny to clear up any mistakes which may have slipped through the net with corrected information being contributed.

Invelos could automate the changes on the back end by converting profiles which have "4K Ultra HD" listed in the edition field.
