Can someone create a child profile for the Terror in the Aisles bonus film contained on the 30th Anniversary Edition of Halloween II with UPC 025192117558? I would but I think you need the actual disc to add a child by disc ID. A corrected disc for this title was issued and I never bothered to get the corrected version so my disc ID for this title doesn't match what's in the database. My disc has the old ID. It still has the Terror in the Aisles film on it which is the only reason I keep it since I bought the Shout Factory/ Anchor Bay box. Terror in the Aisles did get a theatrical release so I think it deserves a child profile.

Does the original (non-updated Disc ID) have Terror in the Aisles on it as well?

Or was that just put on the corrected disc?

*edit*

Nevermind, I just read through your post again and I see that you mention that it still does have Terror in the Aisles on it, so just take a look at my next post and see if that will help you out.

The reason I ask:

If both the original disc and the corrected disc have Terror in the Aisles on it, then I'd go ahead and submit it anyway. You're not actually doing anything wrong in that instance. Yes, there was a corrected disc sent out with a new disc ID, but if the original had Terror in the Aisles on it, and someone had created and submitted that profile before the corrected disc was sent out, it would originally appear under the first Disc ID.

I'd submit it anyway. Create the profile for it as you normally would, attach it to the profile it's supposed to be attached to (Halloween II UPC 025192117558) and in your contribution notes when you attach Terror in the Aisles to Halloween II, mention that you've created Terror in the Aisles under the FIRST Disc ID and ask that after it's approved if someone with the SECOND Disc ID of the corrected disc could change the Disc ID.

That's what I'd do. You're not doing anything wrong. The First Disc ID still exists out there in the world.

I do own the disc you're talking about (as I just checked my collection to make sure the version I own isn't a Canadian version or something), but I don't believe I have the corrected disc that you're speaking of (I bought it fairly early on and never sent away for a replacement), but I can check later tonight if you're not comfortable doing what I just mentioned above.

So someone already created a profile for the old disc using the disc ID. So I created a child profile for Terror in the Aisles using that profile. First time creating a child profile. Thanks for the help.

I don't have a Blu-ray drive, so I am not even sure which version i have; I'll have to check why it had been re-issued... I hope you will submit your profile; I am currently using an existing profile for a previously released DVD as a child profile and would be quite eager to change...

I believe once the profile is created and submitted, the Disc ID cannot be changed, as it is now the profile identifier. But there could potentially be another profile created with the original Disc ID to the database as well.

I've changed, or at least added alternate Disc ID's all the time.

Although now, come to think of it, I can't ever remember doing that when the disc ID was the identifier (and not the UPC), so maybe you're correct on that account.

Still though... The profile can be created and submitted using either Disc ID. Hell, it could be created using both for two separate profiles since each disc would have it's own Disc ID. There's nothing that says it can't. If someone were to create it using the first disc ID (not the corrected one) the profile isn't wrong technically. Like I said before, the Disc ID still exists in the world, some people still own it, nothing wrong with submitting it using that Disc ID even if it can't be changed later on.

Yes, adding alternates to the Disc-ID section is even encouraged by Ken. They are not actually visible, but are stored internally somewhere.

Yes, I agree entirely.

The original disc will not have the Moustapha Akkad presents credit in the opening credits (think the first one gives that credit to Universal), and has "processed" DTS (all for Halloween 2, nothing changed for Terror), while the re-issue has real DTS-HD master audio and teh Akkad credit restored. So you can check without a drive.
