I denne første del af trilogien møder vi den generte, lidt sky yngre hobbit, Frodo Sækker, der arver en ring fra sin adoptivfar, gamle Bilbo Sækker. Men det er ikke hvilken som helst ring, det er selve Ringen, en magisk smedet guldring med ubegrænset magt, der vil kunne skænke Sauron, mørkets hersker i Mordor, magten til at herske over hele Midgård og slavebinde alle dets skabninger.
Det eneste, der kan standse ham, er, hvis det lykkes Frodo og hans lille gruppe af trofaste venner at føre Ringen sikkert gennem Midgård til Dommedagsspalterne i dybet af Orodruin, Ildbjerget, hvor den i sin tid blev smedet, og der - i ondskabens hvidglødende hede - destruere den for altid. Men før de kommer så langt, skal de på en skræmmende rejse ind i fjendens område, der beherskes af Sarumans hær af frygtindgydende Orker og andre rædselsvækkende skabninger.
Men det er ikke kun udefra kommende ondskab, der lægger hindringer i vejen for de modige lille gruppe, men også vennerne imellem begynder RINGENS snigende ondskab at skabe mistro og magtbegær... Historiens videre gang afhænger nu af Frodo og hans venners evne til at gennemføre den desperate, og tilsyneladende umulige opgave. |

How to find it: Disc 1--Go to the Scene Selections menus, and highlight the horizontal picture of Chapter 27, the last chapter on Disc 1. Press down on your remote control’s direction pad to highlight a ring icon. Click on the ring icon to watch the MTV version of Elrond’s secret council.
Disc 2--Go to the Scene Selections menus, and highlight the number for Chapter 40, the last chapter on Disc 2. Press down on your remote control’s direction pad to highlight an icon of two towers. Click on the two towers icon to watch the preview of “The Two Towers” that appeared in theatres towards the end of the first film’s theatrical run.
Discs 3 and 4--Go to the Main Menus, and move the menu cursor to the diamond-shaped icon at the bottom of the page. Click on the icon to access the DVDs’ production credits. |
