Quote: I'll bet if you dump your xml file into Claude, you could analyze anything within seconds. That's a thought, but I wonder if the free version of Claude can handle his xml file? He has over 34,000 profiles so the exported file is going to be huge. Worth a try, though. My experience with Claude was so positive that I went head and upgraded. The free limit is not on its capabilities, but rather on amount of use. So I was able to do a couple of quite complex tasks quickly with the free version, and they were so good, I decided to buy more usage. In one case, it confirmed that it was capable of building a plugin for my eCommerce web site which has a documented API. I described in detail what I wanted to do in a few sentences, being as detailed as possible. Net of the story: first pass happened in minutes. Completed plugin, all code written, including UI, installation and de-installation instructions completed in a couple of hours.
And there is no reason to try and complete the task all at once. Do a proof of concept with a 100 profiles. It will take seconds. Refine the method, Then complete the task, using sensible subsets using the refined algorithm. That's the real power of this thing. You can iterate "ad infinitum" with almost no human effort, including starting from scratch with a new design. No biggie. Each new iteration is just seconds, regardless. No wasted effort. | Posted: Topic Replies: 17, Topic Views: 935 |

Next month I got my annual street-market-tour (something like more than 20 of them within one month), so I think I will wait until then before I start searching for the mistakes I have done Here is an idea. Recently I have been using Ai for coding (inspired by Gunnar) and lots of other projects. Claude is amazing off the charts handy. I'll bet if you dump your xml file into Claude, you could analyze anything within seconds. Just talk to it, and it does the work. | Posted: Topic Replies: 17, Topic Views: 935 |

Quote: Well, that count does not make so much sense in this case. Especially as I have hundreds of profiles with a zero count. But at least I found a way to export to csv with ProfilerQuery. No chance to get my tags, but maybe this now helps to finde the mistake(s). I am curious how long it is going to last until there is the same number of discs in both, excel and profiler...^^
It will be hard work now to control an Excel-File with more than 67.000 lines....^^ What does this mean: "No chance to get my tags, "?
I thought HTTPJolie could get just about anything. It would be interesting to know what you need that you think is not possible.
But then, I can't find the word "tags" anywhere in the Help Manual. So maybe not. | Posted: Topic Replies: 17, Topic Views: 935 |

| Missing DLL. Try comparing the folder contents of an old installation that worked. | Posted: Topic Replies: 772, Topic Views: 71533 |

Here is the problem:
"System.IO.FileNotFoundException: The system cannot find the file specified. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070002)"
Usually due to a missing dll required by the plugin. Often caused by a mistake in the build by the author. Depending on how people install the plugin, some will get the error, some won't. If you can find an old install folder and examine the dll's to see if you can notice a potential required library file that is missing in the new folder. Maybe working with GSyren, who knows the developer game, and compare your install folder with his. | Posted: Topic Replies: 772, Topic Views: 71533 |

So now I'm curious. What version of Windows are you running? I'm on Windows 11 Pro (Version: 24H2 | OS build: 26100.8246). ____________________
Well, I gave it another try. Same result. No data is coming down. Tried the latest build of Windows 10 via VirtualBox as well. Just isn't working. Time to try a different computer I suppose. Will see if it's working with my old Windows 7 laptop. Also have a new HTPC. I'll give it a go there as well. It is possible that the settings file is corrupted. You might have to fish around a bit - I think in AppData in one of the microsoft or dvd profiler folders. When you delete the settings and the plugin will automatically rebuild the settings, but of course you will lose any options or settings for any plugins that use the same settings file. Maybe give it a shot. You can always save the settings just in case that was not the problem.
Also. click on the details button and post that information. There might be a clue in there. | Posted: Topic Replies: 772, Topic Views: 71533 |

But I’m not willing to continue putting in this level of effort—for free—only to have it dismissed due to one person’s opinion overriding the rules. I understand your frustration. It is disappointing that the screening is not done better. However, I would ask you to reconsider stepping away. I presume that you would make these changes for your own collection anyway, so contributing them wouldn't be that much more work. If they get declined, just shrug it off and continue as before. It will only be a very small percentage of your contributions that will be incorrectly declined. We need every contributor. Your work is highly appreciated by the rest of us, even if Invelos doesn't always show it. Please don't give up! I couldn't agree more. I have the highest respect and admiration for all those that contribute to the database. You ARE DVD Profiler. | Posted: Topic Replies: 20, Topic Views: 2086 |

| Well I should certainly give it a whirl! Yes, God willing, I am still here. Just got a couple of new pursuits that take my time. Thanks for the continuing shoutout to HTTPJolie. The latter was synched with my desktop. That one I ran a backup of, which is now stored on my desktop. Then, I switched the iPhone to the "big collection" with the 1100+ entries. I wanted to now "write this onto" the desktop, so I hit "update collection" on the iPhone. It turns out that was stupid as now the desktop pushed the small (162 entries) collection onto my iPhone. Unless there is a way to "control-Z" the updating process, I think I have just lost my 1100+ entries. :-(((((( Is there any chance that you have an iCloud or other backup of your phone contents? | Posted: Topic Replies: 5, Topic Views: 3944 |

You can check by going to File -> Open Database and seeing if you have one or more databases listed. Funny how often we get these cries for help, and a bunch of us jump on it, only to have the OP never post back any results or news. | Posted: Topic Replies: 12, Topic Views: 7558 |

Quote: Hello I don't know what I did, but I lost my collection. I can get to the read me only online collection, but I can't get to the screen where I can add films and use the app. If someone could please help me with recovering my collection instead of having to re-enter everything which is about 3500 films, which I'm not going to do again. Thanks in advance guys Well I just ran my BulkEdit "ScrapeGoat" tool and created a skeleton profile database from your online collection. 3919 profiles. To create a full database, you need to "Refresh" all DVDs from the Invelos online. That will obviously take awhile. The skeleton backup file is only 42mb. Of course, after refresh, you will have a complete database, but without any personal information. No notes, purchase info, user info, loan info, collection numbers, custom reports and layouts, etc. Let me know if you want the file.
If you have a recemt XML export, BulEdit was designed to create a database that includes personal data.
Hmm, the tool seems to have missed a few. Your online collection runs to 4027. I'll look at the code. I wouldn't mind fixing it, but the missing ones are so few, hopefully you would be able to add those manually if I can't figure out what the bug is. | Posted: Topic Replies: 12, Topic Views: 7558 |

Thanks in advance guys My plugin BulkEdit can recreate a collection including all personal data from XML export. It can also create skeleton generic profiles from the online collection which you then use to download the contents, if for some reason you can't download it - but you should be able to do that. Search the forum. I have seen several times where this method was described. Be careful, there have been people who have lost their online collection by connecting it to an empty database.
If all fails, and you want to try BulkEdit, let me know and I will be with you every step of the way. If I need to fix a bug, I will do it. We will never let a collection be lost, if it is at all possible to recover it. | Posted: Topic Replies: 12, Topic Views: 7558 |

Quote: why just implement a paid subscription service? (monthly, yearly, etc.). I would gladly pay a small monthly fee to keep the tool updated. The subscription model is pretty much a de facto business standard today. You can't even buy products like MS365 or any streaming service without an ongoing fee. Why not do this to gain a consistent source of revenue to pay for the servers, maintenance, etc.?
If people are not willing to pay for ongoing support, then they won't get any updates.
Just a thought. Valid questions I guess most of us have wondered about. It makes me think there is the possibility of a legal issue. There might be some options that are simply precluded by some sort of judgement, court action or contract, including perhaps a gag order preventing the parties from talking about it. We just don't know. | Posted: Topic Replies: 7, Topic Views: 8543 |

Quote: This product was the BEST DVD Collection software out there, kinda still is, which is what sucks the most. But the company is trash & refuses to make ANY efforts to communicate with its customers or update it's product. A halfway-decent coder could update this for 64-bit for a small fee, which I'm sure the community here (myself included) would be more than happy to cover. But they're not even trying, which should tell you everything. For me, what "sucks" the most is self-centered individuals that don't consider the impact of their words. If you don't like the site, simply stop using it. What Invelos is doing or not doing tells you nothing except what they are doing or not doing. It imputes nothing about circumstances or motives.
For example, would you want us to consider as motivation for your nasty post, that you might be developing a competitive offering and want to get rid of, what you admit is still likely to be the best DVD Collection software? Well of course not, and no well-meaning person would say or think that about your motives. | Posted: Topic Replies: 32, Topic Views: 44728 |

Ok, got it. I was totally confused about the issue you were describing. I thought it had to do with displaying cached images from AppData that worked on Win10, but not WIn11. So, scratch that.
I have confirmed that your supplied URL does not work inside a DVDProfiler HTML window, even on Windows 10. When I substituted another random image URL, it displayed properly.
By the way, here is the image URL I used. It reveals a method that Invelos uses to pass an image to the browser. It displays properly in an HTML window. Could you use something similar?

I Googled it:
Quote:
2. .axd files: . These are HTTP Handler files in ASP.NET applications that handle embedded resource requests, like JavaScript and CSS files. They are generated at runtime when using ScriptManager.
Seems like it would be simple to replicate the code. | Posted: Topic Replies: 18, Topic Views: 12696 |

Quote: I took a fresh look at this just now and discovered that the issue can only be replicated when attempting to display images from my web space! Example provided below for "Landman: Season One".
Below is the HTML (minus the <> at each end) used to display the thumbnail (400x225) for Episode 1. In DVD Profiler for PC a broken image link is shown within the HTML Window used for the "Overview" section.
img src="https://www.lowpro.net/phpdvdprofiler/bd/overview/191329277447/s1e01.jpg
The original image (1920x1080) was obtained from Amazon Prime so I figured why not. Let's try hotlinking to the image instead resizing accordingly.
img src="https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/S/pv-target-images/0146f47b3c5a07c9ca51a483ef9d8c43d09a2270ebb7544a6fae34cff5721248.jpg" width="400" height="225"
Well look at that. DVD Profiler for PC displays the image without issue. Rinse and repeat for all 10 episodes. No issues. I then tried random images from various websites including this one. Again, no issues.
So it appears the issue here is limited to images residing on my secure web space, i.e. "https://www.lowpro.net", the file permissions having been reset for good measure since encountering this issue. Sadly that hasn't helped. And again, no issues with DVD Profiler for iOS or a conventional web browser. I also added my website as a Trusted Site to IE.
Any thoughts? I'm at a loss as to what to try next. Well, short of finding a different provider to host my website. At least I've narrowed down the scope of the issue. That's something I guess. Wait, I thought you were using HTML windows where the images are cached in AppData. Seems you have switched horses on me. When rendering images from PHP, you will get them from your web space, but if you are processing HTML pages, the images will be coming from the AppData cache. BUt I don't know how your web site interacts with Profiler HTML windows. | Posted: Topic Replies: 18, Topic Views: 12696 |

I do have a "plugin for non non-plugin writers" if you have an interest in doing that for fun. All the plugin scaffolding is done for you. You write your own code in C# to do the work. Maintenance is simply updating your dll in the host plugin folder. | Posted: Topic Replies: 18, Topic Views: 12696 |
