Again another great season! (Almost perfect) Getting closer. Alot of great stuff happening again trough out the season. We are learning more about the characters this season. And "finally" Ross and Rachel! And we got some big names visiting aswell. Julia Roberts, "Mr.Magnum, Tom Selleck" George Clooney! To name a few. Alot of great moments here aswell that i forgot all about! Its nice to catch up on the old seasons again. To see how things have changed, and see everything you've forget aswell. Looking forward to season 3! Hopefully i got some time next week. Money well spent so far IMO.

The OC: The Complete Series

I know I haven't posted about this series since Season 1 Disc 2... but I have been watching the set almost non-stop. I  have become completely addicted to this show! I just now finished of Season 2 (out of 4) And let me tell you... this series has not failed to keep you enthralled. I been glued to the screen while watch. And that is saying a lot from me... as I don't normally like pure drama series. I mainly wanted to watch this series because of my becoming a fan of Rachel Bilson after seeing her in her new series Hart of Dixie. Turns out... in the beginning of this show she was a real bitch. But it didn't take long for her to get more likable. She still has a bitchy streak to her... but now she is one of my favorite characters. If this is a show you never seen before... I definitely recommend checking it out! Highly recommended!

The OC: The Complete Series

I just finished watching the third season. Over-all I would say it isn't quite as good as the previous two seasons... though I still enjoyed it very much. Definitely had it's ups and downs. But at the same time it had an unbelievable season finale. So much so that I can't wait to start the 4th (final) season. Though I am concerned for this next season. Going by the finale one of the main characters most likely will not be there in the final season. And the kids are going from High School to College... so there is bound to be lots of changes for the final season. So I am really going into this last season without knowing what to expect.

The OC: The Complete Series

Well, I just finished off the entire set (except for the last couple bonus features discs)... and I must say Wow! What a ride! I was worried about the final season... but turns out I enjoyed it quite a bit. Wasn't as good as the first 2 seasons... but it was just as good as the third season. And I have to say... I am so relieved that the series had a proper ending. Going into it I didn't know if it was canceled out of nowhere or if the series had closure. The series finale even went as far as showing how all the main characters of the series ended up... years into the future. I always liked when series did that.

Once again I need to thank my daughter for getting me this complete series set for my birthday... I thought it was amazing!

Title: Everwood: The Complete First Season
IMDb |Wikipedia |Trailer |
As a world-class neurosurgeon, Dr. Andrew Brown is a hero. As a father, he's a zero. But that is changing. Tragedy makes him a single parent to his two children. And as the first act of his new life, Andy leaves Manhattan and moves his family to Everwood, the tiny Colorado town where big dreams can grow.

The relationship between Andy and his talented but resentful 15-year-old son Ephram forms the heart of these 23 first-season episodes of Everwood, the acclaimed, richly layered series created by Greg Berlanti. Treat Williams plays Andy, learning parenting on the fly as he raises Ephram (Gregory Smith) and 9-year-old Delia (Vivien Cardone). Unafraid to tackle big issues, spiked with sharp humor and filled with engaging characters, Everwood is a place and a series that rewards each visit you make.

Stars:
Treat Williams as Dr. Andrew "Andy" Brown
Gregory Smith as Ephram Brown
Emily VanCamp as Amy Abbott
Debra Mooney as Edna Harper
John Beasley as Irv Harper

My Thoughts:

I just finished off the complete first season. Normally a drama series is not my type of thing. But in the case of Everwood I was hooked from the pilot episode... and I remained hooked through-out the entire season. I found this series to just be simply amazing. I liked all the character and the storyline advanced in a way that made you want to hurry and watch the next episode. And all I can say is WOW! on how the season ended... I so can't wait to continue on to the second season! This is one series I can't recommend high enough! This makes two drama series in a row that I fell in love with. My tastes must be maturing with age.

My Thoughts:

A couple days ago the mood hit for me to watch some Smallville again. So I pulled out the first season set. Watched the entire set in 2 days! Now does that mean I will watch the entire series again... I don't know... after all there is 10 seasons.  But I did already start the second season. I must say I enjoyed revisiting the first season episodes again. The entire cast looks so young! But that is to be expected from a series that lasted so long. Chloe remains my favorite character. But they are all good. I really didn't care for the portrayal of Lex Luthor early in the series.... don't know why, just expected something different I guess. But he quickly grew on me. A very good start to an excellent series!

Allison Mack as Chloe Sullivan
John Schneider as Jonathan Kent
Annette O'Toole as Martha Kent

My Thoughts:

I just finished the second season this evening. Series is running strong. This season they get away from the "freak of the week" type stories and we start to see continuing arcs. This season Whitley is gone... freeing Lana up for Clark to chase after. In the first several seasons Clark gets one new power per season. The first season he got his X-Ray Vision... this season he got his Heat Vision... which I must say was a fun episode when he got that one! Early on in this season Clark tells his best friend Pete his secret. We also see the first of the Red Kryptonite in this season. As well as the introduction to the caves where Clark reads about himself in the Native American drawings. And finally... This season ends in a heck of a cliffhanger. I had a lot of fun re-watching this season... and looking forward to starting the third season!

What with my getting The Big Bang Theory: Season 6 next week.... I thought that would  be a good reason to re-watch seasons 1-5... concluding with the season 6 set that will be here next week.

There is just something about this series... I can watch it over and over again without getting even slightly tired of it... I just love this show!

I recently viewed two crime/drama series distributed by Mhz Networks Home Entertainment,
one French, Frank Riva, 6 episodes and the other Italian The Inspector Vivaldi Mysteries, 8 episodes. The episodes each average about 95 minutes, 2 episodes per disc.

Frank Riva
Alain Delon stars as Frank Riva, an ex-undercover cop called in from retirement after 25 years of exile to investigate the mysterious circumstances surrounding the murder of his brother, also a cop, in a drug sting operation, involving the notorious Loggia crime family, who had put a bounty on his head during the French Connection days. Frank has to pick up the pieces of a life he left behind a quarter of a century ago: his old flame Catherine, Nina Rizzi, the daughter he never knew, and Xavier Unger former partner, now chief of the Paris police. He must also put together a new team to confront the Loggia gang: Superintendent Lydie Herzog, his superior, the headstrong Captain Hervé Sebastian, and rookie computer whiz Juliette Janssen. Frank Riva is a police officer who follows his instinct and refuses to be deflected from his mission, a man who ignores social convention and flouts rules and regulations, and who lives according to his own deep conviction of right and wrong.

The Inspector Vivaldi Mysteries
This series, set in the northeastern Italian city of Trieste, is divided into two parts, My Son, two episodes (2004) where Inspector Vivaldi, an old-school cop, discovers his son is gay and must learn to deal with it. The remaining six episodes resume five years later, (2009). His son, Stefano, is also a cop, and father and son make a good team solving crimes together. Each has different strengths: Federico's a veteran investigator with finely honed instincts, while Stefano takes a more rational approach using the latest forensic tools. Together, they investigate cases ranging from insurance fraud to murder and human trafficking. Along with these cases is a challenging case that runs through entire series involving the murder of a math professor who had been solving some equations linked to the long-ago kidnapping and murder of a young woman. Federico's best friend and former colleague are called in as a suspect in this same cold case, it seems as if his world has turned inside out. Federico keeps holding on to the dream of winning back his ex-wife, Laura. During their separation, they've continued to communicate and stand together as parents. When they learn of Stefan's homosexuality, they each strengthen their relationship with the son they are proud of and love dearly.

Cast (and their films in my collection)
Lando Buzzanca Federico Vivaldi
Divorce Italian Style

Giovanni Scifoni Stefano Vivaldi
The Best of Youth

Sergio Sivori Saverio Stucchi
Caterina Vertova Laura Vivaldi
Daniela Poggi Flavia Conti
Paolo Romio Yuri
none.

For me both series have the one case that runs through the entire series with enough twists, turns, challenges and surprises to peak my interest through out their entire length. I rate both series a 4 of 5.

what can I say... it is hard to stop watching The Big Bang Theory...

I just finished season 5. Now I am done until Season 6 arrives (due on Tuesday). Season 5 ends with Howard and Bernadette getting married before Howard goes to the Space Station. So looking forward to getting the 6th season... since I only ever seen those episodes the one time!

Title: The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Sixth Season
Wikipedia |IMDb |Trailer |
Whether on or above Earth, hilarity is outrageously universal in TV's most popular comedy featuring four forward-thinking but socially backward geniuses. Fun discoveries multiply: Leonard learns jealousy is bad for a relationship (with Penny) but science is good for seduction (of Penny). Howard finds life in the International Space Station is no escape from terrestrial turmoil between his overbearing mom and his new wife Bernadette. Raj meets someone special who may be a good match, if only he can keep her from fleeing mid-date. Even Sheldon learns a few things: a) what not to say when called in to meet the university's employee's relations director, b) what happens to childhood TV idols and c) that a Dungeons & Dragons adventure can be the icebreaker his relationship with Amy needs. For those who need laughter with scientific regularity, this 2-disc, 24-episode Season Six set of The Big Bang Theory will rock your cosmos.

Episodes:
1. The Date Night Variable
2. The Decoupling Fluctuation
3. The Higgs Boson Observation
4. The Re-Entry Minimization
5. The Holographic Excitation
6. The Extract Obliteration
7. The Habitat Configuration
8. The 43 Peculiarity
9. The Parking Spot Escalation

19. The Closet Reconfiguration
20. The Tenure Turbulence
21. The Closure Alternative
22. The Proton Resurgence
23. The Love Spell Potential
24. The Bon Voyage Reaction

Stars:
1. The Date Night VariableJohnny Galecki as Leonard Hofstadter
Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper
Kaley Cuoco as Kaley Cuoco
Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz
Kunal Nayyar as Rajesh Koothrappali

My Thoughts:

Well that is it. I already finished watching this set. Another great season filled with laugh out loud moments. I really couldn't suggest this series high enough. I feel safe in saying this show is my favorite current sitcom... if not my all-time favorite sitcom. I always find it so easy to watch this show. No matter how long ago I seen the episode before. Matter of fact (while I am not going to do it... I could easily start at season 1 again now.... and re-watch all 6 seasons again. This season while probably not my favorite season... is definitely up there... a must see!

My Thoughts:

This is a series I never seen before getting the set for my birthday back in May. Oddly to this day I don't know which of my friends sent it to me. Someone seen it on my wishlist and ordered it... sending it to me. With only the message of Happy Birthday. It is obviously someone that knows I like pretty much anything with vampires in it. This is a series that is geared more towards pre-teens/lower-teens. But that don't bother me a bit. I can still enjoy such shows. And I enjoyed this one. Not the best I ever seen... but it is worth the time needed to watch it. The series isn't quite as good as the TV Movie that came out before the series... as the TV Movie had slightly more graphic violence. My favorite episode of the set is the last one... it was pretty much a sequel to the TV Movie. And left the series in a spot where I wanted to see more. So yes this is a series I would continue to collect. But unfortunately the second season was never released on DVD. Hopefully one day.

That old nostalgia feeling recently hit. I wanted to watch a classic sitcom. So I just finished off the first season of The Brady Bunch. This first season is from 1969... the year I was born. The odd thing with me and this series... I never cared much for it when I was a kid... but I quite enjoy it now. This is definitely the opposite of how most people feel about this series. I can't explain it... just a weird fact.

At this time I still feel that nostalgic yearning to watch a classic sitcom... so I will continue on to season 2. But I am not sure if I will watch the entire series or not. It all depends if that mood switches to something else before then.

Title: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip: The Complete Series
IMDb |Wikipedia |Trailer |
What goes on behind the scenes of a nationwide late-night comedy sketch show? Aaron Sorkin, creator of The West Wing, answers that question with a must-see show within a show filled with engaging characters, ear-grabbing dialogue and a Hollywood hive of insider buzz.

Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford portray the likable hotshots brought in to revive NBS-TV's sagging flagship comedy series and Amanda Peet plays their savvy boss in episodes exploring the lives and loves of and the make-or-break creative pressures on the show's staff. Panic. Chaos. Fear. Sleep deprivation. Just make sure it's funny by Friday. Because that's when a nation tunes in to Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip.

Matthew Perry as Matt Albie
Amanda Peet as Jordan McDeere
Bradley Whitford as Danny Tripp
Steven Weber as Jack Rudolph
D. L. Hughley as Simon Stiles

Extras:
Audio Commentary
Featurettes

My Thoughts:

This is a series I liked from the start when it originally aired. unfortunately NBC decided to cancel it after only 1 season. At least it was a full season. This series is a good combination of comedy and drama. I felt it really worked... and I liked all the characters. This is definitely a series I can easily recommend. I just wish there was more of it to watch.  For those of you that worry about it. Don't worry... the way they ended the season... there is no unresolved storylines. As the season finale also works well as a series finale. If you haven't yet... check it out. I don't think you will be sorry.
