So do you class 18 as adult?

No but to show your 18 rated you must enable your adult titles to be seen (If you have any  )

So... would you class Lethal Weapon as an adult film?

Again no and at no time did i suggest it was  isn't this discussion about how the programme see 18 rated films not me

What I find most confusing is that I'm pretty sure that equivalent ratings from other localities were getting displayed (the US R rating, the German FSK-18 etc.) - I'll have to double check when I get home.
Which does beg the question why the UK 18 rating is being classed differently? It's certainly nothing I've heard of to do with our laws.

That's cos we're British (British Reserve they call it.) we're not as open minded about the world in general.

I wasn't sure you'd picked up on the issue    It's just the whole point is that it's annoying for some as  it doesn't make sense that the program treats films rated 18 as a adult, the old system allowed us some leeway in the definition.

After all surely it should also filter NR titles as well, just in case?

Well 18 is equivalent to NC-17 not R (for Profiler rating matches anyway), but that doesn't explain why FSK-18 is showing.

Mind you I thought I had an 18 displayed when I was testing this, but  noticed the rating wasn't entered at all.

Just done a test and the FSK-18 rating is indeed filtered out as well as the Australian R rating. So it does seem that the online collection is desgined to class the highest general rating for each locality as an "adult" rating. Which does seem odd, as quite a few localities also have a separate rating for adult titles - the website should really be filtering these out instead.

I've raised a support ticket to ask Ken the reason. (I know they weren't priority on IVS, but I want to see if they are here)

I'm interested to know - the adult title you removed - was it an 18 certificate or did it have "adult" as a genre?

It was Pirates R1 EAN 7-87633-00610-3 would be set up to whatever the profile was i never changed anything. Think it would have had "Adult" as genre.

That has an "Adult" rating.
Does anyone know of any NC-17 rated DVDs? It would be interesting to know whether these are getting filtered too.

Edit: just given it a go and NC-17 discs are filtered out too.
So it looks like the highest general rating is automatically filtered from each locality.
