A separate "DVD Cover Title" field and "Film Credit Title" field would solve that though. Agreed! The two available fields today are used for three different purposes: - original title (title used when the film has been released the first time in its original language) - film title (title from the opening credits of the actual DVD) - DVD title (title from the cover or IMO preferably from the spine) Therefore a third title field would make sense and would be a relief. And yes, all of those titles should be available in the "add by title" window for searching. | | | Last edited: by RHo |

What is the film credits title for this release? I couldn't check and thus didn't list it but I'm pretty sure it's "Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo". If some US user asks me whether I own The Good, The Bad and The Ugly I can't tell him unless I recognize the international title (not as easy for more obscure titles) or he knows the original title. Of course I could look it up at IMDB but that's true for a lot of data we collect. | | | - Jan |

Original Title: Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo DVD Title (German Release): Zwei Glorreiche Halunken International Title: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly I'd say "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" is simply the English language title. That does not make it more international than the original title IMO. EDIT: IMDB even tells me that it's "only" the USA title. In the UK the film is called "The Magnificent Rogues" (probably not on DVD). | | | Last edited: by RHo |

I think we could use four titles -DVD Cover Title -Screen Title (if different) -Original Title (if different) -AKA Title (only local). Yeah, I always liked the idea of having a local title field. Would suit me well for the "international title" thing. | | | - Jan |

Yeah, I always liked the idea of having a local title field. Would suit me well for the "international title" thing. Or maybe even better one or several multi purpose local string fields which you could use for sorting and filtering your database. Everybody has different needs. |

Oh please No, I think the three (title, original title and sort title) we have now are more than enough. | | | Martin Zuidervliet
