Hard to describe, it's a danish action movie. The translation would be "In China they eat dogs". As I just found out it's available in the US too. UPC is 807839-001686. If you like action combined with a really strange sense of humour, you can't go wrong here. It's often called the "Danish Pulp Fiction", but I think that doesn't quite fit. The only thing these two really have in common is the non-chronological editing of the movie. The rest is more something like "Monty Python's go berzerk". Strange and a real MUST Have. | | | | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

 | | Posted: | | | | | | | I didn't think it would be that difficult, but I soon changed my mind when my first list went past 70! I'm surprised by some of the titles that didn't make my final 25: no Halloween, no Pan's Labyrinth, no Mario Bava or Peter Jackson films and the only reason The Devils didn't stay in was because it's only available as a bootleg     So here's my final list, though I'll probably disagree with most of it tomorrow. In alphabetical order (no way I can prioritize them): 1.Bubba Ho-Tep (USA, 2002) 2.Akira (Japan, 1988) 3.Once Upon a Time in the West (Italy, 1968) 4.Blue Velvet (USA, 1986) 5.The Elephant Man (USA, 1980) 6.Cyrano de Bergerac (France, 1990) 7.A Short Film about Love (Poland, 1988) 8.Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) 9.Amadeus (USA, 1984) 10.The Incredibles (USA, 2004) 11.Dark City (Australia, 1998) 12.Edward Scissorhands (USA, 1990) 13.Psycho (USA, 1960) 14.Dial M for Murder (USA, 1954) 15.Dead Ringers (Canada, 1988) 16.Moulin Rouge! (Australia, 2001) 17.The Name of the Rose (Germany, 1986) 18.The Dead Zone (USA, 1983) 19.Les Yeux sans Visage (France, 1960) 20.Deep Red (Italy, 1975) 21.Don't Look Now (UK, 1973) 22.Peeping Tom (UK, 1960) 23.Robocop (USA, 1987) 24.The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (Australia, 1994) 25.Nekromantik (Germany, 1987) Could we make the next one a Top 50 maybe? I need the extra spaces! Edited into a semblance of preference though it was mostly random. | | | | | | Last edited: by northbloke |

 | | Posted: | | | | | | | Here is mine.  I'm still sad that there's only 25 slots too.  Also, I cannot choose only one LotR film.  It's one film, just broken up into three releases.  It gets one slot.     Original language title given first, followed by English release title in parenthesis, except for The Battleship Potemkin, since the forum isn't equipped to show the Russian title in Cyrillic. 1.	Hotaru no Haka (Grave of the Fireflies) (1988) 2.	Lawrence of Arabia (1962) 3.	Rashomon (1950) 4.	The Lord of the Rings (trilogy, 2001-2003) 5.	Jin-Roh (1999) 6.	Shichinin no Samurai (The Seven Samurai) (1954) 7.	Ladri di biciclette (Bicycle Thieves) (1948) 8.	Citizen Kane (1941) 9.	All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) 10.	The Battleship Potemkin (1925) 11.	Perfect Blue (1997) 12.	Blue Velvet (1986) 13.	Mononoke Hime (Princess Mononoke) (1997) 14.	The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976) 15.	Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (Spirited Away) (2001) 16.	Arsenic and Old Lace (1944) 17.	Brokeback Mountain (2005) 18.	Monty Python and The Holy Grail (1975) 19.	Dances With Wolves (1990) 20.	The Third Man (1949) 21.	Some Like It Hot (1996) 22.	Fargo (1996) 23.	Au hasard Balthazar (1966) 24.	A Clockwork Orange (1971) 25.	Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (1990) | | | | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield
