I was just curious if any of the users have this problem: i am addicted to buying dvd's! i find myself buying dvd's i dont even like just so i can add them to my collection. i even set up a tag- craptastic: why do i own this- just to seperate movies that i dont like. i really like to hit up the Big Lots in town and purchase some movies. then add a stack to my collection. is this normal. i remember as a child buying baseball cards on a regular basis(i had a paper route). I am around 1300 dvd/blurays now and i can never find anything i want to watch!!

I thought we buy DVDs/Blu-rays to add them to our collection with DVD Profiler. Who has time to watch them? I am so glad I am not alone, but can somebody please explain this to my wife.........................

Unfortunately money is tight at the moment so I can't feed my addiction as often as I'd like...  I really have to be picky about what I buy right now.

But if I were in a better position financially I would be buying DVDs/Blurays left and right!

I blame DVDP

Before I found DVDP less than 500 titles, now closing on 2000...Ken's fault

I'm a DVD/Blu-ray addict

I have a conspiracy theory. I think Ken gets a $.01 per copy from Hollywood to keep developing the program. I could offer a few more.

Maybe we can have our wives and kids get together so we can enjoy buying and adding DVDs to our collections. Imagine how much more time we would have...........................!

Every year I make a new year's resolution BUY FEWER DVDs and so far every year I bought more.
I should buy one of those exercise bikes and put a generator on it to power the the TV and player.
It least I'd be in better shape.

Thought Charles Barkley punched out Barney, you mean it still alive.

The solution is obvious then.  Those who have a problem with buying too much should just start buying for you instead.  Then they feel better cause they're not buying crap and you feel better as well.

It was a very tight year for me as well.  In fact, 2009 accounts for only 4.9% of my collection.  That's the least titles purchased since I started collecting in 2001! According to my plug-in, I picked up just 54 titles this year. And I only got 1 title in April, July and November.

Of course for some odd reason, there were a lot fewer titles I was actually interested in getting this year.  I don't know if that reflects reality, the switch to Blu-ray or if I was just compensating for lack of DVD funds.

The good news is that the whole tight budget thing seems to be easing up finally now that my wife has returned to work after being a stay at home mom for 12 years!
