Plot:
Suspicious deaths in a California community come to the attention of the U.S. Government when one of their top scientists is found dead. A State Department agent is sent to investigate and learns from the coroner that the all-male victims died from "sexual exhaustion". Working on a lead about the case, the agent teams up with a female government research scientist and they discover a female insect expert is using a process to give women bee-like qualities and sending them out to kill men with sex.

My Thoughts:
OK... this was interesting to say the least. This is definitely no Academy Award winner... but I enjoyed it much more then the last movie I watched! Obviously with the subject of this movie... it has it's share of sex and nudity. Though several of the scenes were so dark it was hard to make out what you were looking at at times. And I got to say... if you gotta go that is the way to go!

I have this movie in the boxset I got last month... Horror Classics: 100 Movie Pack. Your basic public domain fair I believe. Quality could be much better. It is like watching a second generation VHS tape. But watchable. No extras what so ever. And the worst part... a Mills Creek Entertainment logo popped up in the lower right corner for a few seconds every once in a while. I learned to live with this on TV... but on a DVD!?!? That is just not right!

Over all an entertaining "leave your brain at the door" pop-corn flick that has lots of nice looking ladies. Worth checking it out. But don't expect too much from it. If curios... Here is the trailer to check out

I have Wasp Woman (1960) in my collection. Guess it was remade. 

No idea yet... it is up there in that unwatched list.

Plot:
In this macabre tale of a trip gone horribly wrong, an innocent family becomes lost and find themselves at a remote farmhouse. The only apparent resident of the property is a strangely deformed man named Torgo, who insists he is watching the place for "The Master". What our travelers don't know is "The Master" and his demon-worshipping wives have awakened from their slumber to prey upon them for their sacrifices.

My Thoughts:
This is another movie that is in the 100 movie boxset I bought. While the plot sounds interesting... the movie is far from it. I can say for a fact that my daughter is a more talented writer then the person that wrote this drivel. And don't even get me started on the acting! I came very close to turning this movie off shortly after it started. But I wanted to give it a fair chance so I could give my opinion guilt free. The thing of it is... the main plot is a decent one... and we could have seen a good movie. But it does not even come close to succeeding.  While the audio was fine... the quality of the video is very bad. It looks like it was taken from an old well used VHS tape. has the white interference lines at the bottom of the picture. The picture pauses and jerks in several scenes and the color is so off that it is distracting. The reds are bleeding into the black in some areas. And in other areas where it should be red is bled away and looks black and white. But that said... I have seen worse. Not many that is for sure. But there has been a few.

Roland West made this sound version which is another remake    The Bat Whispers: The Milestone Collection in 1930 which also good. The print is as excellent. This was one of these widescreen movies (65mm) which came out in 1930 and you get both versions on the disc.

I hadn't seen em in at least 15 years myself (the first one, the second was all new to me). They are OOP, but appartently can be found on the web easily, and with featureless FS dvds, a free download looks nearly as good as a way over-priced early dvd. I got mine from a trade, but the dude was looking at me with a "you know you could just download this yourself, right?" kinda look.

Still fun although much cornier than I recall (guess some of those jokes seemed better when I was too young to understand them), and a sequel that totally doesn't suck!

I feel kinda bad for not having seen the original Wasp Woman, so I can't comment on that or compare. From what I've heard, it's just a different brand of cheese, but still cheese.
