| Posted: | | | | Quoting surfeur51: Quote: "Star Trek III : A la recherche de Spock" is correct in French So if you enter this data, it shouldn't be a problem, right? Title: Star Trek III : A la recherche de Spock Original title: Star Trek III: The Search for Spock The Credit Lookup looks at the original title field. If this field is empty, then it looks at the title field. So, in short: "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock" is not the same as "Star Trek III : The Search for Spock" in the CLT. You can keep the " : " in the regular title field, as long as the original English title doesn't have it. That way, the number of titles in the CLT is counted correctly. Not a problem, right? Mind you, I am not at all familiar with French punctuation rules, so excuse me for initially raising an eyebrow about this "space before colon" rule. |

This is perfectly correct. But when you have the original title in French, you have also a space before ":" "Les Rivières pourpres 2 : Les Anges de l'Apocalypse" | | | Images from movies |

| Posted: | | | | Sorry, but there is something wrong:
Le scaphandre et le papillon -> Le Scaphandre et le papillon
French rules say: Si le titre est constitué de substantifs énumérés ou mis en opposition (et, ou, ni), chaque substantif prend une majuscule -> if the title consists of two words or phrases of equal value (using "or" + "and"), they are considered "co-titles" and each one is capitalized
so the correct title must be "Le Scaphandre et le Papillon" | | | Si on n'a pas ce qu'on aime, on doit aimer, ce qu'on a ! |

| Posted: | | | | I think "Trois couleurs : Bleu" is not correct rules say: Si le titre est composé seulement d'un adjectif suivi d'un substantif, alors le substantif prend également une majuscule and in this case "trois" is a numeral adjective and so it must be "Trois Couleurs : Bleu" (by the way: look at the french wikipedia of this title) And so it must be "Huit Femmes" and not "Huit femmes" | | | Si on n'a pas ce qu'on aime, on doit aimer, ce qu'on a ! | | | Last edited: by MickySpoon |

Quote: I'm guessing "Trois couleurs : Bleu". Right What about this quote from Wikipedia? Quote: Si le titre est composé seulement d'un adjectif suivi d'un substantif, alors le substantif prend également une majuscule : Doesn't this make it "Trois Couleurs : Bleu"? As I have said, French title capitalisation is sometimes confusing. |

Well, I must admit that after reading Wikipedia article I have a doubt about numeral adjectives. I agree with you that this can be confusing. I also knew the exception about sentences, but not about words of equal value with "et" (and) or "ou" (or). | | | Images from movies |
