Well Gee whiz fellas when I tried to remove Alfred Hitchcock's' Name Last week from the Birds I Immediately got hit with four negative votes that said:

8ballMax  Current DVD title is correct.
Addicted2DVD  Current DVD title is correct.
DH  Your title is not correct
skipnet50  Incorrect title per Rules, terry here you go again

So I can't win either way.. Try to to remove -  get No  try to Add - get No  Just what exactly do you want?

Well, after 25 pages of discussion (probably about 4 with 21 pages of fighting), it appears that some users have changed their opinion on this rule.  That happens from time to time.  Sometimes it just takes more than a contribution for people to see things in a new light.  I'm sure it wasn't anything personal.

I alway thought tinfoil hats only worked if the wearer made them him/herself. Parents must show their children how to construct them, and if the children are too young to make them themselves, their adult-made ones are only half as effective as they need be.

Do not wear tinfoil hats made by others!

Make your own! ...for your own safety!

Whew...thanks for the warning Cliff.

Is it OK to reverse engineer one from the one that someone else sent me?

Yes, it is.

But make it from scratch (new tinfoil/aluminum foil) to fit your skull by your hands.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I think the use of possessives in titles is getting way out of hand. IMO, just because there is a possessive on the same screen as the title (or on the cover) doesn't make it PART OF the title.

No, you're not part of the minority! The voting is 90% against the the possessive in this profile and every other "The Birds" profile doesn't have the possessive. You are just part of the not so loud majority. IMO more often than not possessives are not part of the title even if they show up on the cover or opening credits, specially if they are typeset in a smaller font. In some rare cases of course they are part of the title and should therefore entered into profiler in those cases only. To detect those cases may need some common sense, background knowledge, and maybe also some research.

That's because he is an orangutan.  Orangutans are deceptively strong so they always kick butt.

They also make very good librarians...

Good call, mate. Don't use the 'm' word ...

No, it doesn't specifically separate anything.  It merely says that possessives are above the title.  Where else WOULD you put them, Vibro?

Not being Vibro, I would say to put the possessive above the rest of the title, or maybe at the beginning of the title, maybe even in the first line of the title but definitely not above the title, if I would see it as part of the title.

A possessive is a possessive, not part of the title. If a possessive is above the title, then how can the possessive be any part of a title? How does something get placed above itself?

Possessives are called possessory credits. As in "credits" as to where they belong.

I believe I've answered this before.

Only if you own more than three dozen cats. At one time. All alive. Which means any tinfoil hat will keep your brain as intact as it is, regardless of whatever level of radiation attempts made by any government, corporation or anyone/anything else.

I have been using DVD Profiler since August of 2001. Will we ever get to a point where when something like this comes up, Ken will take charge and make a decision?? Put it to vote. Let everyone make ONE post with their argument for whatever position they are voting for. Then just change the rule.

The endless bickering and the same arguments over and over and over and over are tedious and boring and make browsing the forums no fun.
