Just making my biannual check-in, and express that I am on my second Android OS phone since leaving the world of Windows Mobile (pi-too-ey), and am patiently awaiting news that a most glorious beta of DVD Profiler will find it's way to release.

Having tried the Android application "My Movies", I can honestly say that I greatly miss DVD Profiler Mobile's seamless integration with the desktop product, as well as it's easy to use interface.  Sorry, but "My Movies" just can't hold so much as a formerly lit wet match next to DVD Profiler.

Looking forward to any upcoming announcements!

Regards,
Spence (long-time DVD Profiler user)

Welp now on Andorid Phone #2 as well, From a Hero to an Evo....

Heck  even just something to keep a local copy of the DB to allow addition of wish list etc would be nice.

Given the Evo screen the web base becomes a lot more usable.

Hmmm, just noticed that Android Market has a new app called "Movies (ultimate film catalog)" that claims to be able to import your movie database from DVD Profiler, and then displays it in very much the same way as DVD profiler. Seems to me that someone has beaten Invelos in getting your DVDs onto your Android! Why oh why is it taking you guys so long to get an Android app out??

At least give us a release date?!?!?

Maybe because it's only one guy?

Has anybody tested this? How well does the import from DVD Profiler work? Does it import the XML?

Invelos usually dos not give release dates. But IMO it will take some time, maybe even a year, or more.

@RHo: I have briefly tested the app. You have to convert the XML using a online tool and then zip that file and put it on the android-device before finally "importing" it to the app. You are also supposed to be able to add your cover scans to that zip-file but i have not been able to get that to work.
It's a bit like using myphpdvdprofiler.

My XML with 1040 profiles took ~20 s to convert (16.8 MB -> 2.3 MB) and then ~3 min to import.

The XML-format used is described here.

I was able to import my blu-ray cover scans with (relatively) no problem on that Movies app. It's a bit tricky, but doable.

There's a tutorial on their faq page here.

I just followed the step-by-step instructions.

I had to download a few programs that were free (the Note++ and XnView), but it was pretty painless.

Much to complicated for me. As long as it doesn't import profiler's XML directly, I will stick with my simple CSV export.

It's actually easy just to import the XML file, but you don't get the pictures (if that's what you are looking for).

I don't want no stinky 3rd-party app, I want some seemlessly working piece of software from invelos! I'll wait for it and I'll get it, some monday in the near future

Just throwing in my two cents also.  I am anxiously awaiting your andriod version!  Every other app I've seen for android is crap!  My collection is pretty big and I often purchase duplicate movies..............my life would be a whole lot easier....I really hope this is available soon.

I've been using your program for YEARS and absolutely LOVE it, there is no way I could manage my thousands of movies without it.  Thanks for such an AWESOME product......now we just need this one more!!

Tonight I am buying new X2 Droid phone. So, goodbye to DVDP mobile. I think I can use my online collection until there's an app for Droid.

I got my new phone last night so needless to say I'm looking forward to an app some day. Hopefully sooner rather than later. I can browse my online collection quit easily.
