I just recently learned about Windows built-in snipping tool. It quite good, and the best part is that it contains OCR scanning. And it does that surprisingly well. Better than any other free OCR program I have tried. It makes contributing overviews really easy. Some of you probably know about this tool. but I bet I'm not the only one who has totally missed it. Windows-Shift-S brings the tool up.

There's only one small hitch. Its OCR scan includes new lines, so you have to take those out before you copy/paste the overview into Profiler. I prefer to do that in LibreOffice writer. I just hit Ctrl-H for Replace, select "Regular expression" and replace \n with a blank. Replace all, and Bob's your uncle. I'm sure you can do something similar in MS Word. And I suspect that there are text editors that can do the same, but the advantage of doing it in a word processor is that you can get spell checking at the same time, just in case the OCR gets something wrong - which hardly ever happens (in my experience) unless the scanned text is really hard to decipher.

It doesn't do drop caps very well, but that's easily fixed manually. And cursive is a bit iffy, but you seldom see that on back covers.

Now, if you need help in finding profiles in your collection that don't have an overview, you can try ProfilerQuery or ProfilerMissing. Now you have no excuse for not fixing those missing overviews. Go forth and contribute!
