In the 'standard' thumbnail display the individual pictures all line up horizontally in each row with the bottom of each at the same height; (as if they are sitting on a shelf).  In Thumbnail Display Options there is a tickbox called Center Vertically that lines up each picture in the centre of each row.

Is there any way to make the pictures line up horizontally at the top of each row? I just think it would look a lot neater and tidier if the media type bars were all in a line; (as if they are all hanging on a line).

Not sure if I'm missing something obvious, it's not possible, or I need to do something more technical.
