George Iida (飯田 譲治, Iida Jōji, born March 1, 1959)

Japanese writer, director, producer, known for Dragon Head (2003), Spiral (1998) and Jam Films (2002).
Wikipedia, IMDb

The CLT also has the variant Jôji Iida, but this thread will show that it is not his common name, but an import from, excuse my language, a bastardized romanization of his name, which stems from IMDb, for the most part. This import is also widely spread and infects the DB; not just for the romanization of this Japanese name! [/preach]

CLT results:
George Iida (5 titles / 9 profiles)
Another Heaven (Anazahevun) (2000)
Dragonhead (Doragon heddo) (2003)
Spiral (Rasen) (1998)

Joji Iida (5 titles / 5 profiles)
Another Heaven (Anazahevun) (2000)
Battle Heater (Kotatsu) (1990)
Spiral (Rasen) (1998)

Jôji Iida (10 titles / 28 profiles)
Another Heaven (Anazahevun) (2000)
Black Belt (Kuro-obi) (2007)
Dragonhead (Doragon heddo) (2003)
Jam Films (2002)
Spiral (Rasen) (1998)

Example of how to treat credits in kanji:
Jam Films (ジャム フィルムズ), segment "Cold Sleep" ("コールドスリープ"):
脚本 監督 (Screenplay, director):
飯田譲治 =  Iida Jōji --> Jōji Iida --> Joji Iida

I don't think this is decided yet!

I have my reservations.

Because the actual common name is 飯田 譲治 (Īda Jōji per Google Translator).
This was the credit for all titles that I determined to be, from kanji, Joji Iida.

It seems however hopeless to get any feedback or anything else regarding this issue.

I personally think the common name should/must be Īda Jōji, which in the database ultimately will become
Ida Joji

If nothing else, this will be according to the rules anyway, and for that reason, the only option is to allow it. Meaning contributing Japanese cast (and crew) as "Family name/Given name".
