I know that an Alternate Entry represents a new "version" of a release where the UPC hasn't changed. Is it still considered correct if the movie is a completely different movie?

There is an entry for the DVD of "Skylines" released on 1/12/21 by Lionsgate. Recently, I picked up the BestBuy 4K exclusive Steelbook for "Belly", released on 1/24/23, with the same UPC: 031398336365. The DVD has a picture of the back cover and the UPC matches what was entered in the database and the UPC pattern matches the pattern on my copy of "Belly".

Should I just create an Alternate Entry for "Belly"? I think it's dangerous for companies to reuse UPCs for different items!

I believe we've often had to do this in the past, mostly with budget releases.

The earlier release takes precedence, so the "Belly" release would be an alternate Profile for this UPC.
