I've noticed that some Blu-Ray profiles have the edition set to 'Blu-Ray'.

Should this be the case?

If so, does that mean we should set the Edition to for dvd's to 'DVD'?

To me Blu-Ray/HD-DVD should be just in the media type. If you want to put it in the Edition then don't contribute it.

I would guess that these are a hang-over from v2.4 when there was not the Media Type field - at that time adding Blu-Ray and HD-DVD to the edition field (then disc. trait) was the approved way of highlighting them as there was no other way.

Hopefully those that you are seeing were just uploaded in the initial mass of contributions, when a lot of stuff slipped through. I don't think any should be being contributed now in that way as it is incorrect and a duplication.

Agreed.

Because the conversion process didn't take care of this problem when transferring from V2.4, I had to go through 184 HD profiles, taking the HD DVD/Blu-ray name out of the 3.0 "Edition" field and that took a great deal of time.

3.0.1 DVD Profile is brand new to many people who did not "Beta" test it and from what I experienced, it's going to take a while for many to familiarize themselves with the changes, that the "Media Type" choice takes the place of the 2.4/2.5 disc. trait HD highlighting process.

I've done the Blu-Ray ones. So hopefully they'll get approved in a couple of days.

Yeah, the HD DVD ones are trickling in; I get a couple more every day.
