I am afraid to update my collection as everytime I update a DVD it changes the cover are to very poor quality images from the hig res ones that are already present.
Is this a bug?

Not necessarily, possibly nobody has uploaded a high res scan yet. With the repopulating of the db, when new contributions were first sent up, what ever the user that uploaded was accepted. If that user was a non-premium user of V2.4/5, chances are they had low-res scans.

To prevent loosing your good scans, you should lock your images. (I have everything locked on my profiles) A simple 2-step process: Collection/Flags/Flag All Filtered (or Ctrl+A)  then Collection/Flagged/Edit Locks. You can lock sections or the entire DVD.

You can also help build the quality of the db by contributing your images if they are correct and better than the existing ones.
