I've been trying to establish the correct locality for a number of DVDs that I've received from CDWOW and stumbled across a search facility that tells you the ownership of the EAN/UPC.

HERE

Hope you find it useful.

Oooh. That's helpful. With cdwow you really rarely know the locality.

Just tried it with HP3 that I got from them. upc is 7321917284455. It says it belongs to a Swed!

Hmmm.

Those unrated Warner Bros. DVDs are the ones I was trying to sort out as-well.

However, if you type the EAN for a UK Warner Bros. DVD it still comes up as Sweden.

It appears that Warner Bros. in Sweden use barcodes beginning with 73219........ and use 7321900.... for the UK and the R2/5 DVDs from CDWOW start 7321917....  So I'm none the wiser.

They are definitely not UK but I can't find a definitive locale for them.
My best guess is former soviet union because these are R2/5 instead of R2/4 that they are in the rest of Europe.

Just had a look at the copyright warnings at the end of Batman Forever and there is a line that states: "FOR SALE OR RENTAL FOR HOME USE IN INDIA, BANGLADESH AND SRI LANKA ONLY."

So therein lies the answer. I'll submit them as India locality.

EAN code has absolutely nothing to do with DVD's locality.
