The new layout possibilities are great. My layout includes epg, imdb window, awards plug-in and a html window for the covers. My question is if there are others who experience slow start-up from DVD Profiler with that kind of layout? At the moment the program takes over a minute to start-up and open the layout. I already tried an new installation of DVD Profiler but it didn’t help!

Save the layout and revert to the default (hold down CTRL, ALT, SHIFT during start-up) and see whether with the default it is any quicker.

That way you should be able to tell if it's layout related.

Well it's layout related, the default layout went really quick.
How can I find out which part of the layout is consuming so much that it slows down the program?

I assume you have separate HTML windows for the epg, the imdb window, the covers as well as for the awards plugin. Try deactivating one by one (unselect them one by one in View|HTML Windows), save the  layout each time and then restart, Once the "slow one" is deselected the start up should be faster again.

Let us know which one it was ...

Losing the IMDB window did the most in speedimprovement. But I think I will build the layout again from scratch en then will see with the installation of which window (plugin) it realy slows down.

I had problems with opening real slow anywhere from 45 to 90 seconds. same with searching for a profile.

I found that if I uncheck the option "auto open box sets" the my system will load in about 20 seconds, don't know why but I tried checking and unchecking several time and it works.

Garp66, I'm curious of which script you use to load the epg's, that is to say if you use my EPGL (see signature)? If you are, let me know if it cause problems (not that I actually think it does).

I've downloaded the layout from RossRoy and tweaked the layout to my preference (his layout has all the plugins i had also) and it works like a charm. The EPGL is in it also, so there no troubles.
What i discovered is that the layout from RossRoy is 1.10 MB and the one I made was 9.65 MB quit a difference. But with the same features! Maybe someone would like to check whats wrong with it, you can download it from the download section (Garp66 layout). Thanks!
