Version 3.0.2 Build 1124 on a Win XP Pro SP2 with 2.4GH Intel and 1 Gig Ram

When I go to add a title to my wish list the response from the keyboard is very slow.  The same happens on my machine at work which is a 3.6GH Hyperthread.  The last official version 2 release didn't have this problem.  I'm wondering if it's a glitch in coding, possibly due to the new GUI or some other issue.  I've not gone as far as comparing common software running.

Has anybody else noticed this?  BTW I'm very glad to see new production.  After all that wait with the last beta of V2 remaining unchanged I'm excited to see what's in store on the road ahead!

I believe because it is doing refinement of the search function as you type each keystroke, matching to the existing titles it knows about.

To test this type

## before entering the title and see if the keyboard response "improves".

Can't say as I'd noticed it is very slow.

Under the v2.4x it wasn't all that slow, but it's pretty slow with this new version.  I did your test and the characters being typed still are slow to appear in the text box.

I ticked the 'Full Substring Filter' box and the typing is very fast.  I'll install the latest beta to see if it acts the same.  But for now my fix is to continue using substring.  Cheers for the suggestion though!

What region setting are you using? "Any region" can be slow as the cursor is searching the entire database of films for a match, try setting your region to match your region. This will improve response times.

If you don't get a match trying flicking to the region the film was made in.

The 'Include no region' was ticked.  But even when it's unticked the keyboard response is still not as fast as it is with "Full Substring Filter" being ticked.

Thanks for the tip on the region though.  I never get anything outside of region 1 except for my one and only region-free DVD, so I'm keeping it limited to region 1!

Cheers
