On the 20th Century Fox release of the animated Ewoks adventures there are 2 dates listed.

On the back cover it lists 1985.

But since these are re-edited episodes from the TV series, the actual end credits state 1996 and 1997 for the two "Feature Edition"s.

Just wondering?

Just like any other title

"Production Year
Enter the year of the original theatrical release. For films that have been updated (e.g., a Special Edition or Directors Cut) use the year of the original release, not the year that the re-release was “made” or released."

1986 it is.

Actually, you're both wrong.  It's 1984.    The Ewok Adventures (originally titled Caravan of Courage) first aired in Nov 1984.

Well I'm not accepting that without a provided Source (not the IMDb)

Interesting the case say '85 though, I'd have expected it to err on the copyright/earlier side rather than be too late... I assume some re-titling meant the copyright moved to '85 though for DVDP purposes remains '84

BTW, given that you're right make sure the "Original Title" field says "Caravan of Courage" in the next update.

Whoops, actually I misquoted the title.  The original movie was renamed to "The Ewok Adventure" (no S on the end).  The DVD set he has is called "Ewok Adventures" because it's both the original movie (back to it's original name) and the sequel.  The sequel, "The Battle for Endor", was released in 1985 which is probably why the DVD box has that.

As far as sources, a simple google and take your pick..

Some confusion about what Ewoks DVD I was talking about.

This is not the TV movies, but rather the animated cartoon that aired on ABC back in the 1980's.
