When I download new profiles, I screen them and selectively apply the new profiles. I have found that when I select a profile and download the profile that I cannot download and replace a second profile without closing and reopening the program. If I do not close the program, the download screen pops up but does not actually download anything. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Not exactly sure what you mean. Do you talk about updating profiles with newer data or about adding new profiles to your collection and using the preview feature of the Add DVDs dialog?

With profile updates, the program downloads the data for a specific profile only once during a session. If the data (again, for one specific profile) are already present in the temp folder, it does not try to download them again. There is no interference between downloads for different profiles.

I consider this a feature, not a bug.

IIRC, the behavior is the same when adding new profiles.
Only reviews are downloaded everytime you open the preview, and the corresponding data file gets deleted as soon as it has been processed.

Well, I am referring to updating existing profiles which I made clear when I stated that I selectively applied them. One cannot selectively apply data to new additions to one's collection. One either adds the new profile or one does not.

I will be very precise now.

I click on Refresh Updated Profiles From Invelos under the Online Tab. A list of updated profiles appears. I preview them one by one and selectively apply them if I view them as improvements. If I preview one and then apply the new profile and then click on Refresh Updated Profiles From Invelos and follow the same procedure, this time the update will not apply to the existing profile unless I close the program and exit again. This is not a feature and is clearly a bug. Version 2.0 never exhibited this problem.

I'm not sure exactly what you are doing - but the way that I apply updates is :

I click on Refresh Updated Profiles From Invelos under the Online Tab.
A list of updated profiles appears.
I then right click and 'select none'
I then choose which profile to compare and select which sections to apply
When  I have finished or want to just stop, I select OK.

This then applies the changes I have selected.

I can then immediately go back to and start again by selecting "Refresh Updated Profiles From Invelos under the Online Tab."

The remainder of the profiles are now ready for me to compare etc.

All the profiles that I have processed have gone. All new updates that I select then get applied in their turn.

As far as I can see this is correct.. (I'm using the latest version)

I have all my local locks in place instead of entire dvd...so as when I do a 'Refresh Updated Profiles' from Invelos. I then 'Preview' each title one by one.

I can select per DVD which of the updates I wish to accept, so if joe bloggs has updated say CoO and covers and can unlock the 'produced' only (if I think my scan are better) or both or however number of updates there are per profile.

The only profiles that have not got any locks on them are those in my 'Wish List' as without the actual DVD I have to rely on the contributors accuracey with the data.

I understand how to update profiles. The problem is that there is a bug which requires me to close the program and reopen it each time I wish to upgrade a profile. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I tried this on the latest update and it worked great. Your detailed explanation was very helpful. Thank you.
