| | Posted: | | | | I couldn't find this specific issue addressed so I'm going to ask it here (again?).
I just upgraded to Vista today and the only program I am having trouble with is... you guessed it... DVDP3.
When I try to start it, the 'Eye' doesn't even begin to turn to color before it crashes. I re-installed it and it is still a no-go.
Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions.
I hope so... becasue I can already feel my aura starting to fade. |

Vista stores it's user files in different locations than XP and then provides links to the old location for backward compatibility. It's possible that's screwing you up. |

You may be right about it looking for a folder that no longer exists. However, when you try recreate the folders in Vista it automatically moves the contents (if any) to the new location and makes your new folder simply go away... arrggh | | | | Last edited: by Erin |

Im sure that you have made a error when upgrading without checking the validation tool for migration... In those case It will be faster to backup evrething you have on a usb HD drive and reinstall Vista on a clean partition. |

| | Posted: | | | | Create a restore point and then verify and purge any directories and registry entries are gone after an uninstall. Search and destroy anything that contains "DVD Profiler" in it.
Slam a couple shots of your favorite 100+ proof drink and then reinstall. |

| | Posted: | | | | Whoa, you upgraded a computer to Vista? That sometimes doesn't work too well I've heard, it's almost better to use XP until you buy a new computer with Vista pre-installed.
I'm currently running Vista Home Premium with no DVDP software problems.
Did you reformat your hard drive before installing Vista? It might also be a graphics card glitch, so you might want to see if there are any updated card drivers/software for Vista. | | | | Corey |

| | Posted: | | | | Just gone thru this and the result was wonderful. Everything faster, cleaner and better in every way. I saved my data to DVDP web beforehand and to a 2GB drive as well, then did a clean install removing all traces of DVP in the process. Then after setting upvarious basic matters such as internet, Outlook etc I went on line and dowloaded the new software with my updated key and simply accessed my old list. Smooth as a snakes foot! I hope you can sort this as I am delighted with the result. |

Right now Upgrade is not recommended by anyone that I know off.
There is a workaround on the net on how to install a clean version of Vista from the upgrade DVD. |

| | Posted: | | | | I completely irradicated anything referring to DVDP and did a new install and guess what?? It is fully and completely non-functional. This is the only program that I actually care about that doesn't work. There is another that doesn't work, but it was a simple time-waster (very much unlike DVDP). I'm about to ready to explode.  |

| | Posted: | | | | Well... I don't know what has changed but I tried it tonight and it works just fine. It works better, in fact, than it did before I upgraded. I haven't had a single 'Access Violation'.
