2 of my contributions of new profiles just disappeared from the "Contributions" page in My Account, so I had to re-contribute them. The contributions were:

Who Killed Bambi?: The Ciné Lumière Collection - EAN 5-023965-343123 - Locality: UK
Mifunes siste sang - Disc ID IE97929531A3C4266 - Locality: Norway

It's happened once before (that I know of...), and is very annoying, since I use the Contributions page to keep track of what I've contributed, and when a contribution just vanishes I don't necessarily notice it right away (or at all), resulting in that contributions I spend a lot of time doing might never make it to the online DB.

This used to happen only with contributions of cover images, but I recently have the same experience with contributed profiles. Seems to be exceptional though, and a renewed attempt usually solves the problem.

If you read the bottom of the contribution page. All entries are automatically removed 30 days after they are processed.

This was after three days, when other entries from the same period had been approved/declined.

If you re-contribute the same profile without checking and submitting new items, the contribution stays in the contributions list but without 'Received' and usually disappears after 2 or 3 days.

This one was received, as one of a set of two. One was accepted, the other disappeared into a black hole.
In the meantime I resubmitted, and this time it worked out.

But this happened within hours after I contributed the profiles, and they weren't processed.

Both profiles I contributed were new profiles that weren't in the online database, and it showed "Received" for profiles/images for both profiles.

I resubmitted both yesterday, and they've been accepted.

Mmm, it happened to me a couple of times and I thought it was my mistake. Apparently there's some kind of bug in the acceptancy process.

I have the same problem. I contributed an update for a German TV series profile (UPC 5050582498714) twice. Both times it simply disappeared from my contribution list before it was processed (it vanished after about two days).

Ken, this is something that simply mustn't happen !

Most bizarre indeed. I haven't yet encountered this problem.

This is a bit off topic and may have been mentioned elsewhere already... but when I submit an existing profile, and then decide not to actually submit, it shows up on my contributions page anyhow, but "blank" in both the profile/images tabs. I don't really understand the purpose of it?

I never experienced this before either, but I think I'm about to!

I contributed "Thank You for Smoking" Danish locality, EAN 5-706102-378270. It showed up fine, but now, the columns where it usually says Received is now blank - like when you cancel the contribution on the page where you enter the contribution notes. And yes, when I click it to read the contribution notes, they are gone!

In the database-tab, it's gone too - so I would suspect it won't be long before the contribution just disappears into thin air...
The future is here. It's just not widely distributed yet. (William Gibson)
