Use the free version of v3.

(since v2 will no longer be updated.)

DVD Profiler 2.4 was with another  company, Intervocative. It is no longer supported and the database is no longer updated.

If you wish to continue updating you DVD collection, you must download 3.0 from this site. Make a backup of your collection in 2.4 and then restore it in 3.0. Be advised that 3.0 has a 50 title limit for the online collection and some other limitations. If you wish unlimited use of 3.0, you must purchase a premium key.

yeah and I'm i student. and it's not worth it just for a couple of reasons for me.

1: I just used it to put the DVD's online, to give friends a clue from what I have. and as far as I know the lay out looks the same old en cheep look as before in version 2.4.

2: second, I don't need the extra new futures from the new version, and the new layout of the programme so again it's not worth for me.

3. and at last i don't have paypal and i don't have a creditcard.

but yeah that stupid 50limit thing it's just a marketing point and a pain in the ass for those who don't need teh extra futures and have a lot more than 50 dvd's.

You can use Profiler with more than 50 titles no problem, just with restricted features.
If you want to have your collection online however, you either need to pay for the software or host the list on your own webpage.
Or you can continue to use 2.4 and just add all your titles manually. Just because you don't get profiles online anymore doesn't mean you can't continue to use the program.

I don't use it myself, but there's a utility called phpprofiler that a lot of people use to do this.
Search the forums and you should find plenty on it.

All of those programs rely upon the XML export from the windows program, which i think is one of the features disabled with more than 50 profiles in the free version.

I think your only option is to update your profiles manually with 2.4.

Boo hoo!   If you're so poor you can't come up with $30 to pay for a program you want to use (the online database) where'd you get the money to buy "over 140 DVDs?"

Again, Boo hoo!   It's not "just a marketing point" to me.  You don't seem to mind sponging off someone else's bandwith to house your online collection.  Grow up - student or not, you should be willing to pay for something you use.  That's the way it works in the Real World, after all.

So instead of buying two more DVDs, just pay the $30 and be done with it.  (I think there are ways to handle this even if you don't have paypal or a credit card.)

WOW! I had no idea about this new version. Looking around website for answers and I overlooked all the talk about the 3.X update and all. Thanks for asking me that simple question. The new version works, but I have to fix 200 plus bad upc's

You don't need to "have" paypal. You can just register for free at their site. Also, Paypal works with a regular bank account too, so you don't need a credit card.
