Man, I wish they wouldn't bust up these seasons like this.  Besides the overall expense, there's the fear that they won't complete a season if they don't like the sales.

First of all: Cool!

Second of all (and this is not just aimed at you, dear Skip, although your headline is a prime example of this): I had a very fine composition professor who, when asked about the appropriate use of the exclamation point, would give his thoughts... he referred to the exclamation point as a "d*mbsh*t" (which I will hereinafter change to "dummy"). He went on to explain that if the sentence (or exclamation, such as wow, gosh, or an offensive word) logically could be ended with a comma followed by the word "dummy", then an exclamation point might be a good idea. For example: "Duck, dummy!" or "I love you, dummy!" work well for "Duck!" and "I love you!"

But, he despised multiple exclamation marks. (He rarely tolerated "!?" together, either, but that's another discussion for another post.) He explained that we never repeat a person's name, title, or invective in a single sentence. i.e., we never say "Duck, dummy, dummy!" or as you would say it in your headline: "Road Trip, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy!"

I think one exclamation point would have served us all well enough!

But, I prefer my first point. I rarely got to watch many episodes of this fine series, and I think I will, like the DVDs of "Perry Mason", appreciate it more at my age than the age I was when it first aired.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

"I am Andrew Ryan and I am here to ask you a question:
Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?

No, says the man in Washington. It belongs to the poor.
No, says the man in the Vatican. It belongs to God.
No, says the man in Moscow. It belongs to everyone.

I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something
different. I chose the impossible. I chose…
Rapture."

I remember them filming a scene from the second season about a half mile from my home. As I recall, it took them a couple of hours for a scene which lasted about 5 minutes on screen.  Years later (I was 12 when it was filmed in 1961) I saw the episode on cable TV, though I forget which channel was airing it.  They filmed two episodes while they were in Pittsburgh - an odd location shoot since Pittsburgh is no where near Route 66.  The other episode wasn't filmed near my home, but it had an interesting thing happen during filming.  Lee Marvin guest starred and had a scene where he and George Maharis engaged in some fisticuffs.  Something went wrong with the choreography of the fight, and George Maharis broke Lee Marvin's jaw!

Aah, Skip, your note brings back memories!!!

Good grief, what do thirty-four indicate?
