It seems like the master database contains duplicate entries.
When I add by title for "A Nightmare on Elm Street" for locality Netherlands, I get several results twice with the same UPC.
This scares me a bit to be honest (in the sense that the database is already dirty/corrupt).

Looking up "A Nightmare on Elm Street" for R2 (include no region) Netherlands only reported 14 profiles for me.

In the old days we would recommend to reset the download timestamps, to download a fresh online database, but that option is not available anymore...

First oiff there are likely to be multiple entries for most titles, most of the time this will be different UPCs.

However there are also ocassions and reasons duplicate UPC # within the same Region. I can't address your specific title, but i will explain probably the single most famous case of this.

Back when Artisan FIRST announced T2: Ultimate Edition they said they were going to release it with all its extras on a Single DVD-18 Disc for Region 1. AS the release date neared Artisan found that they could not produce enough DVD-18s to meet the demand for the title, so they decided to release on the SAME Date with the SAME UPC # a 2-Disc set using DVD-9s. Hence you had two absolutely identical releases on the same day, with the SOLE difference being the number of discs involved. This led to much ping-ponging being caused by people totally unfamiliar with the situation, Ken ultimately decided to allow the Duplicate entry. So if you look closely at the data for the two releases, you SHOULD find that one has ONE Disc and the other has TWO...that is the ONLT dofference. Without some rather extensive research, the title you mentioned could be suffereing from some sort of similar malady. Would it not have been better for Artisan to do the twin release under different UPC #s...I would say of course it would....but for whatever Artisand's corporate reasons they chose not to.<shrugs> So don't be to quick to blame this on bad/corrupt data, it MAY not be.

I'm with ya_shin on this one, all I see are the following.

You could probably force Profiler to re-download the online list by  deleting the timestamps.idx files. But I would check with Ken before doing anything, and certainly make sure you back up your collection first, in case you have to reinstall.

I checked again, and I really do have several entries twice. Since you guys don't see them, I guess something must indeed be wrong in my local setup. BTW, they are in fact the same entries, because if I add one to my Wishlist, I will also see the other one having that small 'heart' icon.

@skip: AFAIK it is impossible to have 2 dvds with the same locality+upc in the database, no ? If you try to change either locality or upc to a combination that already exists, it is not possible to submit that as a new entry. Instead, it will be considered an update to the existing one.

NO it is NOT, but ONLY Ken can do that and it is rare indeed.

This has been reported by other people (someone even supplied screen grabs), I even saw it on mine once. Unfortunately I haven't been able to track down that thread so I don't know if it was ever resolved.
I do think it's more of a local problem though - no idea how to fix it!

Skip is correct, I believe if you look at the Terminator 2 entries  when they've been exported to XML, it has an extra letter in it that you can't enter or see in normal circumstances.

Only Ken or Gerri can create these and the only one I know of for sure is the Terminator 2 example.

The UPC is 012236109679 if you want to take a look.

Are you running the newest version? I experienced this bug in an earlier version of the program (For me it the child profiles for the Beverly Hills Cop Box Set R2 UK?

Edit: Couldn't find the thread were this was mentioned earlier, and it's not mentioned in the release notes either, but I'm sure I've read about the bug here in the forums, and I know I have experienced it myself

Yes, I do run the latest version of the software.
Also, I think it's a local problem because of the following reason. If I find a duplicate entry, there is only one of the two that I can add to my local database. If I click Add on the 'wrong' one, nothing happens. However, after the one DVD is added to my local database, I notice that the other one gets the same local database icon (e.g. a Heart when it's in my wishlist).
