I have a PDA that has a UPC scanner integrated into it and I use this program to store my DVD Collection, how would I speed up the process of quickly scanning in my massive DVD collection by just using the UPC scanner that is integrated into my PDA to enter UPC codes?

You do not load your collection into your PDA by entrering UPCs. That process is done through the sync function in the desktop version of DVD Profiler. On the other hand, you can use your UPC scanner to enter UPCs into the desktop version.

You can do a lookup by UPC and if it doesn't find it, it gives you an Add link.  Just add it with no extra info (such as name-n-such) because that info will be downloaded from the Invelos server on your next sync.

Assuming that you can scan UPC's into any text entry field.

Hmmm...that's a conundrum...not sure how that would work, or if it even can. Perhaps the question about using a PDA UPC scanner (while it is docked in its cradle) to enter UPCs into the Descktop version of DVD Profiler should be taken to the Technical Support thread for the Desktop version of DVD Profiler.

I guess what I am saying is, that I want to be able to scan the UPC's with my PDA and have them stored, then when I sync with my Desktop, it will pull the UPCs that were scanned and entered them into the appropriate section of DVD Profiler.  Is this possible or am I just doomed to enter the UPCs?

Ok, I think I see what you want to do now. You're talking about entering the UPCs stored in your PDA that you scanned using the UPC scanner in your PDA into DVD Profiler Desktop. I think it must be done one at a time if I'm not mistaken. There's no way to have it done automatically. If you are able to download the UPCs stored in your PDA to a text file you can use the Import UPC Plugin to import the UPCs into DVD Profiler (Desktop).

Yeah that is what I'm saying, is there a certain plugin or addon that I need to download and install so that I can use my scanner, because as of right now it only lets me add UPCs by typing them in (which is a pain if you have a huge collection) and if this isn't an option or isn't a plugin / addon to do this, would anyone be able to create one?

Like I said before, you should ask about using your UPC scanner in the regular threads instead of here in the Mobile thread. Mostly just Mobile users peruse these threads. I'm not aware of any plugin that enables use of a UPC scanner...but then, I've never used one.

If your Scanner stores the UPCs like you said, can't you just download all the UPCs from the scanner to a text file and use the Import UPC Plugin?
