Set up R1 series 1 & 2.

Animal Planet's sets of Seasons 1 & 2 of Meerkat Manor do not have any UPC/EAN code, unlike the British (BBC) version of Series 1 in the main database which DOES have an EAN.

What's the best way to enter the data and use parent/child profiles, knowing that I'll have to use Disc ID to contribute to the main database?

Ken: I was able to locate a UPC for Season 1 (796019806794), but I can't find a release for Season 2...yet or for a combined set. Must be an Animal Planet exclusive at least for now.

Skip,

I see that UPC in the dvdlist database with a release date (future) of 10/09/07 and Genius Products as the studio.  I don't see Genius Products listed anywhere on the packaging.  I'm going to assume that what I got from the Animal Planet web site is an exclusive, as you suggest.

I don't have any similarly packaged TV series in my local database so I don't have an example to use as a guide to how to catalog what I've got.  If I do it by disk id, which disk do I use for the parent (box) profile?  Disc A?  Or do I do a manual entry for the box and use disk ids for 3 child profiles?

It's so confusing.

Skip,
You are correct.  Season 1 and Season 2 were Animal Planet exclusives packaged in a 3 disc box set for each season.  Each of the 3 discs in each box set is packaged in a separate keep case.  There are no UPC codes on either the slip cover or any of the individual keep cases. I purchased both sets directly from Animal Planet a couple of months ago for my wife and grandson.  They are Meerkat Manor fanatics.  The release of Season 1 was only announced about a week ago through other on-line merchants.  It does have different cover art being shown at the online sources than the box set I purchased from Animal Planet directly. I can but make the assumption that Season 2 will be announced some time in the near future for general release.  The BBC release in Britain is show as "Series 1" which I will assume is the British version of Season 1. The front cover art for the region 2 release is very close to the cover art for the exclusive slip case cover art on the one I purchased directly from Animal Planet.  I do not catalog my wife and grandson's DVDs because they have a tendency to not last very long.  Neither one seems to grasp how to care for DVDs properly. One is 55 the other 9 and they both seem to think that the discs are make of titanium.  Go figure!
