My wife always makes fun of me because I absolutely want to remove all stickers on the cases, ranging from pricetags to promotional stickers or extra info stickers like "From the makers of..." etc...
Anyway, a question about the scans. Should we include the stickers or not ? I have to vote on a submission that changed the scans from the keepcase covers to the slipcover covers (which is indeed how it should be done). However, the front cover is identical to the previous one, except that there is now a sticker in the scan. I wanted the submitter to just leave the front cover the same as before (since keepcase and slipcover have an identical front) but he now updated his submission note stating that the slipcover originally came with the sticker on it. I however find stickers annoying and disturb the cover art.
Although I can imagine that stickers on paper/cardboard are very hard to remove without damaging the package, in this case you can just as well take the image from the keepcase.
Anyway, I'm totally against stickers in cover scans, but the rules make no mention of this, so I wonder if there is a consensus.

I've always been of the opinion that if the DVD makers wanted the info on the sticker to have been part of the cover, they'd have actually printed it on the cover, so I'm in agreement with you - ditch the stickers!

I always ditch the stickers. They're just another marketing tool to grab your eye without destroying the cover art in the process.

Ditch the stickers if possible but I'd rather have a scan with stickers than a scan with a ripped cover!

No stickers on scans!

Fortunately I have seen very seldom stickers that cause problems with scanning. Normally the stickers I have seen are attached to the shrink wrap. Therefore they are already gone when scanning.

However, I sometimes save the stickers. If the sticker is attached to the shrink wrap and it is easily detachable, I might attach it to the keepcase sleeve. That way it cause no harm when scanning the covers.

I totally agree. But, if possible, better to remove them.

Specially with keep cases I take the cover out of the case for scanning, therefore scanning without stickers which usually are on the case. This may be different for slip covers and digipacks.

Removing them is best, unless stuck on with atomic-strength superglue.
