As title... I want to use my old username to register new account but it won't let me... I was using the old free system and have migrated the database to the new version... which I want to pay for and use but it won't let me register with my old username as it says it's in use??

Help!

You can register here using the same User name as on the old site (like I did) as long as someone else hasn't already used it.

Looks like you either already registered and forgotten you did or you are out of luck.

I've not paid though - I was registered under the username beebul but for some reason I can't figure out how to login and pay... I wonder if the system is confused because I used the old system????

I've definitely not paid and forgotten about it

I think I've got an account here with my beebul address but when I try to send password reminder I don't get the email.. is it possible for admin to check this out for me... I just want all details cleared and to be able to set up with my old username and more importantly, to pay!

I seriously doubt anyone is using my username - it's crap for that very reason!

if beebul is the username that you were wishing to use... It shows HERE that beebul is in the member database. And that they just signed up 9 days ago.

Yeah but I can't login, then when I put my email address in for forgotten password it sends me a link but then wants me to create a new username... as you can tell I'm confused!!

I think the upshot of it is...I registered that username but now can't login for some reason, the forgot password link doesn't seem to be working for me so I can't use the name I wanted. If admin could clear it out in some way so that I can reset password I'll be good to go..

I would send a PM to either

Ken Cole
or
Gerri Cole

and explain everything... one of them should be able to get you straight.

homerjones, I send beebul a PM. If that's you, you should get a notification by e-mail, therefore reminding you which e-mail address you used when you signed up. Then you would only have to use that one to have the password resend.

I got it!

We can be asured that beebul is me (I never suspected any less) but I still have to sign in as Homerjones because it asks me to login to see the PM!!

The plot thickens

Sorry Addicted2DVD I missed your earlier post about PM'ing Admin... I will do this before I expose further foolishness

Well, then it seems simple.... Go to the My Profiler page and see what two things you have in the Username and Alias fields. Changing those appropriately will eventually have your name displayed here as beebul.

IIRC Username is used for logging in etc. and Alias is simply the name displayed in the forum.

But I can't do that. You are forgetting

1. I have had to set up the homerjones account to access this forum.
2. when I try to access the 'My Profiler' page - it asks for my login details.

Catch 22.

But I thought now, that you know the proper mail address, you could retrieve your forgotten password?

If that still fails, contact Ken or Gerri Cole, as Pete mentioned above, or use one of the Contact Us forms.
