Was plugging in some new cast pics when came across an issue with the movie Powder.  Brandon Smith plays Duncan in this movie and is an older actor who I have in a few others but when I saw Grind and She's All That in his credits I looked twice. Especially when it said Kid #1 and JV Cleaning Boy.  Found out it was a young actor who now puts his middle name in there Brandon Mychal Smith

My question is I found him in the cast list with his middle name so I was able to change it on my lists but how do I contribute this.  I know I've seen (credit under __) before but when I looked in the rules wasn't seeing anything about this other than not to use the roman numerals.  And what would I list for the update info, if I do contribute?

So it's two movies that need to be changed and as far as I can tell I have the newest versions of both.  GRIND and SHE'S ALL THAT. Brandon Mychal Smith is the correct actor but it is under Brandon Smith.

Thanks
MNART

There's two ways of doing this, and it all depends on which name is the most commonly credited name.
If he's more commonly known as Brandon Smith, then you need to find a birth year for either or preferably both Brandon Smiths. You enter it when you're in Edit Profile. Select the relevant Brandon Smith on the left-hand side of the list, then click "Edit Cast Member" below. This will give you a window where you can add the birth year. If you want to contribute this to the online database then I would recommend you list at least 3 different sources for the birth year.
If however he is more commonly credited as Brandon Mychal Smith then you do it a different way. In the profiles where he is credited as Brandon Smith, you link the name "Brandon Mychal Smith" to the role, then in the Edit Role window you will see an extra field called "Credited As", normally this field just duplicates the actor's name, but in this case you can edit it and remove the middle name.
Once saved you will see Brandon Smith in the profile's cast list, but that entry will now also link to all profiles also containing Brandon Mychal Smith.
Again, if you want to contribute online you will need to supply documentation that Brandon Mychal Smith is his most commonly credited name. The Credit Lookup tool can help here - you'll find a link to it via the Database page above.
Hope this helps, and I apologise for any inaccuracies - I'm at work and writing this from memory!

The Credit Lookup Tool seems to indicate there are two or more Brandon Smiths.  (IMDb lists 4 or more)

Birth Years would be the best way to separate them but can be hard to verify (IMDb isn't an acceptable solo or probably even secondary source for this)

If he's using all three names and you can prove it's the same kid in She's All That & Grind you could argue B/M/S as the common name to separate him from the other Brandon Smiths.

Proof is the obvious key.  If a website such as www.brandonmychalsmith.com existed with a biography you'd be golden.  Next best is an interview with him or someone referring to him and mentioning all the movies in question, which would nicely tie things together.  Otherwise a third party site (or six) which are not IMDb related or sourced linking the names/films would be good.

Or you could compare screen shots of him from the various films.  Might be tricky with someone so young but possible.  You could then provide time stamps for the various films.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!
