So i bought a dvd (3-pack of dragon ball z movies) and went to add it by UPC and it came up, but it came up as Dragon Ball Z#61 Great Saiyaman - Crash Course

Is there anyway to get this added to the online database, perhaps some way to get an exception so the UPC can be used twice? Both releases are from funimation and legit.

now this is interesting, I just looked it up online at DeepDiscount while writing this post.

The upc I got when i scanned the title was: 704400030468
the upc deepdiscount lists for the title is: 704400038563

is it possible my copy just has the wrong upc on the case?
Any help on how I should handle this would be appreciated

If the UPC is not available enter them by Disc-ID.
This works quite as well provided it's really just a 3-pack and not a boxset.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

this is a box set.

I haven't opened the the set yet, but these movies are all available individually as well. As these versions are repackaged, minimally because the original are standard keep cases and these are in slim cases. There is a good chance that they also don't contain UPC's (as this was the case with some other slim case three packs i recently bough (cameron diaz collection and denzel washington collection)) so those titles will be submitted under their disc id, leaving nothing to submit this under.

The upc that deepdiscount lists for this title is, however, not in the system. I will check the other copies at the store (am going back after work anyway) to see if mine is just somehow missed printed (though i scanned the barcode) and i expect the other copies will use the same upc as mine. Though its still possible that it was just a printing run error and the proper upc is the one listed on deepdiscount.

I also need to add some child profiles today, and finish personalizing the other profiles I added yesterday after work, so I will verify a few other details with this title then

any ideas on how to handle this. I've opened the set and the 3 movies in the set do not have individual upc's so will need to be added by disc id. the main sets UPC is already in the database but under another title (same company, funimation, but its for part of the series where this set is of movies for the series, DBZ)

So unless it can be entered under the same UPC as the other set there is no way to enter it into the database

I'm a little puzzled by the whole situation but I'll try to help.  I would add each DVD by disc ID as Michael already recommended.  As far as the box set (slip case) itself, that I'm not sure about. I think there is a way to add this, maybe by starting out without putting in a UPC and filling in as much info as you can and then adding the UPC later, I think the program will tell you that the UPC already exists but I think you can add it anyways.  I have to admit I'm half guessing if this will work as I think I encountered that issue once but it was because of the locality.  I do know that there has to be a way to submit this, even if it shares a UPC as sometimes when I added a new movie to my collection I will get a choice as to which DVD to add, the second choice is usually Canada, but again, I'm not sure if that willl work since I guess in that case it's a locality difference.  Hope you find a solution though.

Sorry, no you can't. This will give you a bunch of "NO-Votes". And you still wouldn't have the Slip-Case in the database.
The normal way for a situation like this would be to enter the boxset by the Disc-ID of the first DVD, but then you'd have a problem creating the child-profiles.

@ Agrare: Is there a way you might verify the second UPC from the distributors homepage? Deepdiscount sounds like a trader to me, so probably they have a misprint in their listings too.
If you get the second UPC verified, I would contribute for this UPC and explain the discrepancy in the contribution notes. This should work.

I cant find anything on Funimation.com or dragonballz.com that lists the Title and its UPC.

Only thing I could find is that the following sites list the title with the same upc as DeepDiscount.com

dvdpacific.com, dvdboxoffice.com, buy.com, bestprices.com

So if they all list 704400038563 as correct UPC for your boxset contribute with this UPC. In my eyes the misprint is verified by your sources. So if you explain this in your contribution notes and link the sources you gave in this thread the profile should pass.

EDIT: I just entered both UPCs at amazon.com and got "Dragon Ball Z: Broly Triple Threat (3 pack)" for both. Even though the first UPC isn't available, just from private sellers, this speaks for a misprint too.

Well that was quick. I submitted it (not more than an hour ago) with the UPC that all the sites list it under, noting that the UPC on my case is different, but conflicts with another title and all those sites reference the other UPC and it has already been approved.
