  | | Posted: | | | | Well, first I need to explain, there are two main "versions" of the Portuguese language, Iberian (Portugal) and Brazilian (Brazil). Somehow these two get mixed up quite a lot and generally Portuguese is considered as a whole, however, with recent blu-ray editions Brazilian is being used in Region A editions (the country is included in Region A) and I believe it's causing a lot of confusion. Worse, recent blu-ray editions in Portugal are including Brazilian language subtitles which is very frustrating to Iberian costumers as the 2 languages are very different (much more than US english and UK english for instance) and no one likes to read something that feels unnatural.     I believe this could cause a bit of a stir in the program but I really do feel it's necessary because everyone I've talked to consider those 2 languages effectively as 2 separate entities. |
