Is there a reliable source/website to look up the SRP's for DVDs? Prices vary from store to store so they're not all that reliable. Until now I've just Googled "Canadian SRP for (insert DVD title here)", but I'd like to be 100% sure that I have the correct SRP when I contribute a profile.

Also when entering/editing a profile, the "General Information" section has a "Country of Origin" drop-down list. Do I enter the country where the DVD was manufactured/purchased, or where the movie was filmed/produced?

I just want to make sure all my profiles are error free before I submit them to the database.

Thanks!

CoO = country of the production company that made the movie. (TLOR = New Zealand) so not the manufactured/purchased or where it was filmed. If it is a co-production from different countries leave the CoO open. The first part I could not answer, I'm not familiar with the Canadian situation. Oh and errors will happen

Ah...so the production company. My confusion came about when entering "Resurrecting the Champ" to my profile and the database. Alliance Films (a Canadian company) produced it, but the movie is an American release. It made total sense once you used TLOR as an example. Thanks Giga!

As for SRPs/Canadian SRPs...I'll keep hunting around I guess.

When possible, I'll try to track the news release for the DVD on the distributor website.
If not, I'll take the SRP either from amazon.ca or chapters.indigo.ca
But they are both prone to errors and "SRP manipulation" to show bigger discount.

Does anyone know of a website that displays original SRPs?  There are a few titles in my collection that I know are displaying lower price-dropped SRPs, but I have no idea what the original SRPs were so I cannot correct them.  All retailers and the studio pages of course show the current pricing information.  Once a price changes is the original information lost forever?  I reckon the answer is yes, but wanted to see if there are some websites I don't know about......

I checked a couple of titles and that website is only displaying current SRPs, but thanks for the links, it might come in handy.

If you are looking for Region 1 US titles, try Michael's Movie Mayhem.  This site has data for "138,433 DVD Releases (Region 1)" -- and I think the data for SRP is for the original release.  I know it shows both available DVDs and out of print ones.

thanks for the link.  I already use that site as a reference quite often, and the SRPs are current ones, not original ones.

I'll keep that in mind and take care when considering a SRP listed in the dvdlist.  I assumed since they didn't change the release dates for titles which are subsequently re-released with the same UPC they didn't change the SRP either.
