The Jungle Book (Platinum Edition) contains a subtitle only subtitling the songs rather than the whole movie. Do we profile this as a standard English subtitle or is it something else (thus, currently, "Other)?

I personally would keep it as "other" simply to show that it's a non-standard subtitle track.

I agree... I would keep it under "other" as well.

Is it irrelevant for profiling that this subtitle track is NOT selectable through the subtitle menu but only by accessing a seperate bonus feature ("songs")?

While the movie is shown with the lyrics after selection, I'm not sure if the fact that the subtitle is not mentioned under the DVD's subtitle section can be cast aside.

Ah well, that changes things IMHO, coz' that makes it a bonus feature. In that case, I'd say list it under Features / Other (something along the lines of "Song Lyrics subtitles").

I don't see a problem with listing it in both places.
If it's a valid subtitle track then it can be listed under subtitles, but it does sound like it should be mentioned under other features too.

The same is true for most commentary subtitles and audio tracks, so what makes this different?

That there is a special "commentary" entry in the list, but we have to use "other" for "lyrics only"?

Personally, I don't care whether this subtitle is listed as "other" or not at all. As long as it is not listed as a regular "English" subtitle, I am fine. This is not possible in this case anyway because there is already an "English" subtitle.

No, that we check a commentary subtitle and add an commentary audio track despite the fact that it's often not selectable through the subtitle/audio menu but only through the bonus feature menus, just like this lyrics subtitle.
