Question,

Is there a way to contribute with out re-inventing all of the stats for a movie that has been released in multiple formats, such as DVD and Blu-Ray? Case in point....

Street Kings is available in the database in DVD format, UPC code, scans, details, etc.  Well I have the Blu-Ray copy and there is no entry in the database. It has obviously a different UPC, and scans - an maybe an extra feature or two - but the actors, producers, etc. etc. are all the same. Instead of me starting from scratch - is there a way to contribute this Blu-Ray version without re-inventing the wheel?

Thanks !!

The other way is to add both Blu-ray and SD DVD to your collection.  You can then copy "All Cast" and "All Crew" from the DVD profile to the Blu-ray profile.  You can then manually tweak the rest of the profile to match the Blu-ray.  Don't forget to submit the changes when you are done.

Cool - thanks for the directions. I did not know I could change/update the UPC code. Pictures and information for sure.

Thanks for your help - and watch for the Blu-Ray version of Street Kings to appear shortly.......

you could even just download the SD version and then update that to match the blu ray version. Why copy all the data from the old version to a new when you can amend the old version?

don't forget the changes will include - EAN / locality / release / sound / video / features / overview / easter eggs / discs and cover scans at least

I think in most cases, DVD versions have more complete profiles whereas the Blu-ray or HD DVD profiles have very minimal information and often lack cast or crew.  I think this is due to there being more members that own DVD versions over HD DVD or Blu-ray.
