There was a post about this back in December. I tried everything that was suggested but mothing has worked.  I have a Samsung BDP2500 with up-to-date firmware. My remote has the Bonus View button that was mentioned, but it has no effect.  I do NOT want to watch any movie, let alone "HP and the Half-Blood Prince" with these stupid little boxes popping up.  They completely destroy the flow of the movie.  HELP!!!

IIRC, this is a known problem with that player. Bring up the pop-up menu, turn the bonus view on, then back off and it should stay off.

I tried that, thanks, but it didn't work either -- when I hit the Bonus View button I get the "cannot do this" red circle with a line through it.  I am ready to dump this POS blu ray player.

Try going into the main menu on the disc and then turning it on, exit, then go back in and turn it off. Sometimes its hidden under bonus features. I got rid of my BDP1500 for that very reason went to a PS3 and now I have upgraded to an OPPO BDP-83 player, fast loading and no damn bonus view unless I really really want it.

That is the problem. You have 2.5 firmware, and for this problem, you need to come back to 2.4, or wait for 2.6 on which they are working. The best for you is to come back to 2.4 if you can find it, or if you kept it before installing last version. (I have the french one, but it will probably not work on yours).
