As a new user who has yet to purchase DVDPM or DVDP for that matter I am using this forum to post a request that a version of DVDPM be made for the Android OS.

With the Android OS having a barcode app it would be a perfect fit for DVDPM. As the co-owner of Home Theater Forum I know that many of our users have DVDP on their own PCs. And many of these same members have one version or another of Android or will be purchasing one in the near future. I know that many of these members would purchase DVDPM for Android for their own use if it became available. It would be a strong fit for their DVDP they already have on their PCs.

So I have added my own request that a version of DVDPM be made for the Android OS.

Thanks,
Parker

Parker, since you're not a registered user, I know you can't post in other forums here.  Not sure about reading.  But just in case, there is a lot of interest in an Android version.  I have no idea if one will ever see the light of day, but you're not alone.

I read all the the requests and would have added my name to that list but couldn't since I am a new user. I started this thread to state that I too along with all the others would love to see an Android OS version of DVDP made and so other non-registered users could add their own request(s) if they wanted.

You haven't missed anything - we have not yet announced a date for the Android version.

Based on Ken's response above (made a little over a month ago in the Mobile Features Request forum), I take his wording to mean it's definitely coming but he's not ready to talk about timeframes yet.

Not so sure about the "definitely", but that's how I would interpret the comment as well.
Otherwise the "yet" wouldn't make sense.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Hi,

Currently, you can browse your collection from a webpage with your browser:

(of course, this is read only)

For my personal needs, I created a small Android application which allows me to scan lots of UPC from my phone... then I email them to myself...

I open the email on my desktop where I open DVDP. I copy the UPC from the email to the clipboard... and I paste it in DVDP...

Finally, I synchronize my collection with the online one...

This is not a perfect solution.. but I's very time-saving to create my DVDP collection...

If you're interested by the Android app, you can search wbarcodeslist in the Android market...

Since I'm not a registered User, I have to use this thread to express my wish of an Android (2.1/Motorola (EU) Milestone) Version.

Feature Requests:

* make use of the Barcodescanner
* read an unlimited Number of DVDs with the Scanner at one time - doing all of the Cover-Downloads later on PC
* quick check if a scanned DVD is already in the DB

Thanks

Got it, and it works nicely. Will be handy until we get an Android App
