Suggestion!

In the Refresh Updated DVD Profiles it is possible to skip an update. I allways kept my profiles up to date but it seems people are contributing in mass wich is good but a lot of profiles are not up to date.

I personally would like to skip all updates for the next few days and contribute my profiles (if they are more complete than the existing ones of course)
We can't select an Skip All Update option in mentioned screen.

Then just don't do the update, or am I missing a point here?

The program doesn't force you to do an update of profiles before you contribute, so just keep the mouse away from the little button, wait a week or so and then do an update for almost all your collection (and have fun with previewing several hundred changes at once...)

That's the whole point of his question.  All my profiles are correct (except for minor stuff I don't care about), and I don't want to have to wade through all that lot - even two weeks hence - when a 'Skip All' would let me kill them in one shot and not have to worry about being asked next time for the same update.

What I do is set all locks on all profiles, Then I'll go back and unlock one part of the profile i'm not interested in (usually easter eggs). Then when I do a update it goes thru all the updates but only changes the one part of each profile that is unlocked.

But the program won't let you add any new DVDs unless you update.

That's better than nothing.  But if you've got a LARGE collection, even that is a royal pain because you have to individually open that one field one stinkin' record at a time!

Not true, gard. I have enterd and Contributed about 15 or 20 new titles this week, and I am not even close to being updated. There is however a little bug that Ken needs to KILL, I think you will discover when you try to add a new title to your wishlist, you will think it didn't take, but IF you look in your Owned, lo and behold there it is (surprise, surprise, surprise  ). Simply move it to your wishlist and Shazam! all is right with the world.

Hm.  I tried adding some new titles to the collection, but when I did, it started to process the entire massive update.

I canceled that, went through and skipped every update (most of them were "no change" as far as I can tell anyway), and only then could I add the new titles to my collection.

Not true go to collection - flags - flag all, Then go to Flagged - edit Locks, Check everything you want locked, or unlocked - When you do a update only those fields will change and every thing is cleared. I just did it with 2962 updates. After that you can change all you again to what ever you prefere.

Are you sure you're not mixing up the download of the profile list with the actual updating process? It does not update your profiles automatically when the db file is downloaded, you can evaluate all changes and also cancel the update process of your local db. Doesn't have anything to do with the db download though...

No.  This is a problem that cropped up in earlier versions too.  If you check to see updates, and work on some of them, then cancel when you get to ones that haven't been processed yet, any additions you make to your collection are stuck behind the updates.  The new DVDs will not add to the collection until you deal with the updates one way or another.
