Now we have the ability to add a cast member more than once to the cast list of a single feature what is the 'weight of opinion' on when we should do so?

If the credits say:

Ingrid Pitt: Marcilla/Carmilla/Mircalla

Would you expect three different entries or one (which is 'as credited') entry

(I am assuming that if the credits had said:

Ingrid Pitt: Marcilla
Ingrid Pitt: Carmilla
Ingrid Pitt: Mircalla

then it would obviously, to me, be 3 separate entries in the cast list since this would be 'as credited'; AND tie in with the new facility)

[PS Sorry about mistaking the question and answer windows for each other in my first attempt]

I think this is clearly defined by the rules, and should be as credited:

If a person is listed in the credits once, with multiple roles, then they should be DVDP credits once, with multiple roles.

If a person is listed multiple times, once for each roll, then they should be listed multiple times in DVDP.

I don't think the rules leave any wiggle room for this to be otherwise...

I would say "as credited" - if they are credited as three seperate entries, than that's what I would do. If they are credited as one entry, then I would do that - unless there is not enough room to enter all the Role-names (like Brendan Frasers roles in Bedazzled), then I woul split it into two entries to make room...

Agree with this... as credited as long as there is room... then split it as needed to fit the rest.

If it's the same person (like Peter Parker / Spide-Man) it should be only one entry.
But if they're diferent persons in the movie (e.g. like Michael J. Fox in lots of roles in Back to the Future) we should list them as multiple entries.

it all depends on the billing used in the film. Sometimes people are listed mutiple times and others they aer simply listed once with several roles. We follow As Credited and list accordingly any departure from this should remain only local. I can perhaps see a possible double listing created due to a length problem. Otherwise simply do what we have always done.

I do agree with madacid. This topic is not covered by the current rules mainly because it has not been a topic in profiler 2.x. "As credited" is a valid proposal, but IMO it has it's drawback here. For consistency purposes with the crew credits, where we have to use two credits for e.g. "written and directed by" (and that is a good thing this way), we should also use individual credits for the cast.

In Shrek Mike Myers is credited twice: first as Shrek and then few lines later as Blind Mouse. Then eg. Chris Miller is credited once as Geppetto/Magic Mirror. I just contributed the profile of the Finnish release. I listed them exactly as credited.

However, in Shrek 2  Conrad Vernon has one credit as Gingerbread Man, Cedric, Announcer, Muffin Man, Mongo. There is still not enough space to include all those roles in one credit. I decided to credit Conrad Vernon twice in DVDP. How do you think of that? If an actor has several roles and they are all listed as a one credit in the movie, should we be able to use the possibility to credit them several times in DVDP or should we just enter what ever fits in one role field?

Same thing on Happy Feet (of which I just reviewed my screener and it looks gorgeous): Robin Williams is credited as Ramon; a few lines later he's also credited as Lovelace.  My experience indicates these are pretty exceptional, though.  I guess I'd follow the "as credited" rule.  Most of the time it should end up on one line.
