It now moves incredibly slowly to do anything (30 seconds to open the Add a DVD window for instance). Database repair did not help, nor did reinstalling. Intentionally upgraded my computers to Windows 10, or reinstalled, umpteen months ago: no problem with DVD Profiler. | | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. | | Posted: | | | | Strange because with this kind of configuration you shouldn't have any performance issue.
What you can try is to check if new drivers have been released for Win10 and install them. You can also try to reinstall DVD Profiler to see if there is improvement. Maybe also try to disable plugins you could use in DVD Profiler to check if there is also improvement.
Do you have also performance issue with other softwares installed on your computer since upgrade to Win10? | | | Regards

1) Shutdown and unplug from wall, then re-seat all the boards and especially the ram chips. If that doesn't help, try 2.
2) 8GB should be more than enough to run things quite well. If you have a bad ram chip, this should find it. Take one of the ram chips out and see if it runs better with 1 chip, if that doesn't work try the other one. If it runs better with only one of the two running, problem solved. Replace the bad chip.

| | Posted: | | | | I have found that but i also noticed that Windows 10 had an app running in the background (runtime broker) that was using a lot of the CPU and HDD so naturally trying to scroll or do anything in DVD Profiler caused delays, stuttering etc. If i chose to "end task" on runtime broker the PC would run fine again.
I then moved the DVD Profiler database to my SSD and that improved things whilst runtime broker was running.
It seems the runtime broker is linked with the apps in the start menu so it scans through all your pictures which can take a loooong time. It starts automatically when the PC has been idle for a while. You can "end task" it but it will just start again later when the PC is idle. I just left my PC on during the day and let it run till it was all finished and of course you dont know when its going to start or finish so its just by monitoring your PC that you know if its been done or not.
Hopefully its just something like the above that you are experiencing. |
